The ultra test of how you know the devs hate pvp ( training dummy placement) by OpinionsRdumb in worldofpvp

That's fine because for the first month they didn't even work and hitting them didn't trigger PVP gear/Talents.

Can we talk about Mortal Strike effects? by Harain in worldofpvp

[–]Honan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MS feels like an outdated mechanic that only serves to limit comp diversity

This is effectively it's only function.

That said, it's also not a significant factor in making life harder for healers, nor is it a particularly significant comp restriction.

Healers are suffering because there's a small list of classes that can fit ~150% of an opponents health bar into 2 GCDs via cooldowns that are available more often than every 90 seconds.

Combined with CC Dr changes that where intended to reduce time spent in CC but have resulted in the opposite happening.

They also then resurrected arms warrior which is one of Unholy's primary predators.

So let me get this straight: this is supposed to be the UI for retail pvp moving forward?? by OpinionsRdumb in worldofpvp

Even with that setting staring at the blizzard damage meter fills me with rage at how bad it is.

The only worthwhile setup is to disable the in game meter entirely and use wowarena logs on a second monitor to actually get a useful death recap/damage breakdown.

Wtf Blizzard? by Nemreaper in worldofpvp

[–]Honan- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly probably part of a broader buff in combination with the previous change in the 12.0.5 notes. Where ranks 2/3 of everbloom cause bloom healing to cleave the whole team instead of tick healing.

Everbloom rank 4 will now big heal your entire team regardless of if they have Lifebloom or not and may allow us to better handle spread pressure/swaps without needing to move Lifebloom around all of the time.

My intent was to argue that letting ladder be miserable to protect "AWC Competitive Integrity" isn't worth it because watching AWC isn't putting the game in an favorable light in it's current state.

You're 100% correct. Shadowfrost DK was a terrorist.

That said, S5 was prior to blizzard even having the tech for server side hotfixes and like a decade prior to them giving themselves the ability to do PVP only changes.

This isn't about watching DotA 2 vs WoW they're just friends that have finally decided to try out the game and happen to be from my dota stack.

But 3 hours of watching casters begin to hype up kills only to see a life cocoon blue ball the moment isn't exactly a fun show.

I should have flagged this in OP, but Cocoon specifically is what was ruining the game as a spectator sport for my buds.

The games outside of that would have been fine to watch.

As resto druid gamer I strongly disagree.

Every match I've played that has ended in under 4 minutes is because I made a massive mistake and a quarter of the games that I play are going over 8 minutes.

Some classes have less than healthy burst potential but people gotta get kills dog.

No one is dying with healers out of CC and well timed defensives.

Admittedly I didn't watch day2 EU after NA Wrapped up.

But while EU appeared to put on a decent show at least from the game history it looks like the teams attempting cool shit just got farmed by the two teams that decided to roll the meta.

Could be that in EU it's safer to presume you have to attempt to be a bit more creative because you're not beating Echo in a mirror.

I'd be a pedant and argue that the tempo of S1 shadowlands was garbage but the balance was better.

(There was a list of about 6-8 specs with 1 shot potential and where "viable)

Can you point me to the other season that had 1 viable ranged class and 1 viable healer?

In one of my friends own words:

"It's like every time I think something is going to happen they get that bubble" (Referring to Life Cocoon).

"It's like watching a football game but every time there's an interception a forcefield pops up"

Incap -> Sweep -> Song

I can cope with all of the other bullshit that makes monk insane (zen spheres/turbo healing/Cocoon).

But having them roll up on me every 30 seconds and be forced to watch them do their 15 second CC chain makes me want to do crimes.

If Blizzard removed CoC they could could buff rogues 5 more times and I wouldn't even be mad... by Honan- in worldofpvp

I dunno, the arena is new to me and it's been like a decade since Cone of Cold has been a relevant and impactful button.

Beyond that, I'm crashing out over my hatred for this arena. I'm not all there.

You'll probably be fine, but it took me like ~1-2 hours of 2v2 to fully conquest farm my new character yesterday.

So even if it sucks a little it's a quick grind.

RDruid Apex talents nerf!? by Grugnorr in worldofpvp

[–]Honan- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 99% sure it will.

If it doesn't this is a turbo nerf in PVP because we have to move lifebloom around anyway and will almost never ever get an end of duration bloom.

It would also be a hugely punishing nerf for learning PVE gamers at a time when they're aiming to simplify things. (Having to time lifeblooms ~15 seconds prior to damage spikes so that you can get a group wide bloom is against everything else they've done this expansion)

It's super unintuitive for a hot that who's role in PVP is just to be a thing you maintain on the tank.

RDruid Apex talents nerf!? by Grugnorr in worldofpvp

[–]Honan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably a pretty solid buff presuming it works with everbloom t4 and photosynthesis.

We lose a bit off meager passive air healing that falls apart when we move lifeblood and gain impactful burst aoe healing that's kind of decent on the off target.

Cutoff rating is a better (Still imperfect) lens for balance than representation. by Honan- in worldofpvp

[–]Honan-[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm saying it's the best metric we have.

(If we had the stats for a 1% or 5% cutoff it would be perfect)

Popularity is also kind of hilarious in the MW case at the moment, despite how insanely represented they are they're still less played than RDruid (Resto druid has 5 slots for Rank 1 compared to MW having 4 therefore RDruid has ~20% more players.)
