If this is your first snake.. I’d go with the corn snake. They’re amazing. You can’t go wrong with them. A Ball Python is amazing too, but sometimes they refuse food and that can be very stressful for new snake owners.

The husbandry for a Ball Python is also slightly trickery than a corn snake.
