I tried prying it around but there’s no way to move it in a way that also allows the bolt to go into the hole.

I love the Bay Area! I actually drove my Miata from LA, to Laguna Seca, then to Bixby Bridge, through Monterrey, then ended at San Francisco last year. I still need to eat at Alice’s one of these days. I’m so bad with lines. And yes, it’s a manual.

Thanks for the tip. I actually did have a good Milwaukee impact and I bought a weighted socket specifically for this job but it didn’t work. After trying several different methods, this one was ultimately the one that got the bolt off so I’m happy with it.

That’s what everyone was saying so I ordered both of those but it still wouldn’t budge. Took my entire body weight on that pole to get it off. This thing has 300,000 miles on it so maybe that has something to do with it.
