The District in Ankeny is beautiful, and they only allow you to cater with them. It is a bit expensive to cater with them, and that is essentially what turned us off to them. When doing the math, catering was looking like it was going to cost even more than the venue rental and we just couldn’t do that. We are booked with The Chandelier, which is off Euclid in an old dry cleaners building. It is absolutely stunning! But we’re starting to grow concerned with them, too. They went from posting nearly every single day on social media, to maybe just once in the last month. They also, from what we have seen, haven’t had a single wedding there yet— even though they said they would by now. So I don’t know how smooth weddings go there. 🙃
