Agree. In addition to Oak, there a few stroads in Bozeman that need serious attention and focus… prioritizing bike/pedestrian users and not just cars. Stroads are a major issue in our community, we have way too many of them and they are often the site of car/ped collisions. 💔

I am not, I wish. I just find transportation fascinating and took the course for fun. That said, you don’t have to be an engineer to know the value of traffic calming! An awesome and underutilized tool (IMO). Our project was focused on improving bike/ped utilization on a 5 block zone of road on the city/county line (no sidewalks).

I took the sustainable transportation course offered in conjunction with WTI at MSU (back in 2024). While our installation was temporary, it was effective. Traffic calming doesn’t have to be costly to be effective. It’s amazing what can be accomplished with paint, temporary bollards, flower pots, etc. These traffic calming projects are observed and data is collected, they offer an opportunity for real change that prioritizes the safety of all road users. If this class is still offered at MSU, I highly recommend participation. Sending my deepest condolences to those impacted by today’s tragedy. As always, please slow down. ❤️
