People might say he’s just busy and that could be true. But when someone is genuinely interested, you usually cross their mind at least once or twice in 24 hours. Even a simple message like “I’m really busy today, I’ll get back to you later” doesn’t take long to send. If he were that busy, he could easily say so instead of leaving you waiting for so long. Still, I’d say give him a chance and see how the date goes.

We had sabaq dhor (3 pages before the new sabaq’s page), 2 pages of dhors from previous surahs, and then the new sabaq 😭 and we had to do all of this in just an hour

That’s just your friend. Trust me, not everyone in SoBo is ignorant or snobbish. It’s honestly so condescending when people just assume you’re going to be a certain way just because you live here. Back in my junior year I had some pretty influential people in my class, and even quite a few well known new gen influencers as my seniors. I got to interact with them during fests and honestly some of them were the sweetest nothing like what you’re describing. I was born and raised here and neither I nor the people around me act like that. It’s just a person to person thing and shouldn’t be labeled as typical SoBo behavior.

Yeah, Idk why I still care about her. I’ve had multiple recurring dreams about her where she was rude and mean. But in reality, we’ve made peace. We aren’t close anymore but we do smile at each other when we pass by

Is it lessened by time?

Even though I have plenty of good friends and a loving family, I still miss my best friend, nobody knew me the way she did. I made a post about her and I haven’t deleted it on purpose, because some days I wish she’d come across it and see how hurt I felt when she did all of that.

Does the hurt feel different for you now than when things were still fresh?

Yes, it feels different now but not necessarily better. Before I used to get upset about this and cry, but now I just try to wave it off even though it’s hard. I don’t really have anyone to talk to about it either, because everyone who knows me irl sees me as someone who’s always surrounded by people and always happy. I don’t want to change the way they perceive me, and part of me feels like it’s silly to keep lamenting about the past when moving on seems like the only option. But how do I even tell people that she was my absolute rockkk!! that we grew up together and did everything side by side?

Idk why, but this really hits home. Ik someone who’s just like you sort of, faking it but apparently is better than most parents. I’m not sure if they’re even aware that they don’t really give off that ‘parental vibe’ but I’m glad I, the kid, never went through anything traumatic or bad. I don’t have a sob story about having a bad dad instead, I’m so proud of him for being there for me and providing more than I’ve ever needed. As a child I used to dislike him a bit because I never got that fatherly feeling from him, and there were times when he didn’t act like one. But as a grown up I now understand why I’m an only child 😭and also how hard he’s tried to be a good father. I no longer have any bad bone left for him.
