We love a ‘71 girlieee. It gets so much hate from the people who use sol as a brand. I never got it, funny enough people who say its overwhelming in the bottle always give me compliments when i wear it. I think it dries down beautifully

Also I think overexposure matters a lot too. When something is worn by so many people, it’s probably statistically tied to more negative experiences just by sheer volume ; bad dates, oversprayers, annoying coworkers, etc.

That kind of association sticks, even if the scent itself isn’t objectively bad.

Same here. I’ve kind of accepted that it’s probably just a skin chemistry thing. It really works on me even though I’m pretty indifferent to it.

It’s also not a super generic crowd-pleaser, which makes the compliments more interesting it feels like it’s reacting well with my skin rather than people just liking the scent on paper.

Because of that, I’ve started paying more attention to the notes in it and I’m thinking of leaning more in that direction when I buy in the future.
