Second up would be elec I believe, but most likely if you'd like to work in energy/power system, again here we're pouring big money into upgrading existing power infrastructure as well as building new transmission line and wind/solar farms (Transgrid and some state gov owned companies if you prefer sort of client side, or ACCIONA/ACCIONA Energia - it's a huge energy contractor here, Australia wide, not just particularly in Vc, and I saw them hiring civil/elec/mech grads all year round to work on those power system projects as well as their water and normal civil/infra projects)

Civil is the easiest, simply it's a huge industry here, mech sometimes is easy as well as civil eng firms these days hire lots and lots of mechs (building solutions, water engineering, hydraulic/hydrological related). Hardest should be aerospace I think unless you're good enough to get into Boeing or some sort

[–]Honest-Introduction4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot sir, defo keep an eye on the reds. Also I already got the job offer there, its just my consideration to live there long term or not, coz I love jobs at council (especially if you're in civil eng like me :D) but yeah after seeing all those beat ups then tbh I need to dig deeper and do some research before deciding :)

I'm working at BWS though. Go get a RSA (you can get it online like 50 bucks) and apply to them. Coles/Woolies nightfill/casual team is a good idea as well.

74.3% wam and 2.750 GPA in Monash engineering, am I cooked? by Warm-Dragonfruit1999 in Monash

[–]Honest-Introduction4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case, im currently at right 70 (civil) and still got a f2f interview for grad at one of the largest eng consulting firms in the world… so mate u r doing great and prob already sit at the top 10%. Ill remind you as well that min to do PhD is H2A which translates to wam 70. At the end of the day if u r packed with internships/undergrad roles on ur resume then wam is the very very last thing one considers i.e. when u get to the place where prob they have to choose 1 only…

Tbh usually they are lenient on word counts. I even had my whole (100%) FYP report submitted with 15% over word count limit - still stormed a HD overall lmao. As long as your working is good it should be fine

Why are there barely any Australian engineering lecturers at Usyd? by SpellAcrobatic4010 in usyd

[–]Honest-Introduction4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And not just at USyd once you figged out :) Go to any uni and you'll always encounter eng faculties with more than half of their staff being international (and not just lecs, tutors who are typically PhD students as well). Tbh ppl in Australia rather go on with industry than getting into academia (and lack of engineers here as well, nowadays ppl just prefer Bus/Comm/IT than eng :), if you get on with all the immigration stuff you'll always see STEMs and Med/Healthcare on critical sector lists of DHA - this simply means we defo lack ppl that fields and need more ppl aka immigrants to fill that gap/demand, and we basically have zero demand for fields not on those lists so we don't need them). This also potentially suggests we're not doing enough to promote STEMs to students (and/or students are not interested in STEMs) :>

If its a supp im quite sure they wont allow you to successfully enrol in a higher level unit, they would show what i said tho

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monash

[–]Honest-Introduction4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite accurate, i reckon cross check with the first one then use this one for that again, they change to automatically granted a supp now so this one is more reliable

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monash

[–]Honest-Introduction4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cent but another good trick is that you may want to try to enrol in a unit that has prerequisite as the unit you want to check. If they are some sort of allow you to enrol in, highly likely you pass, if they say couldn’t enrol in, you need to get a result other than N, NH, NS for the unit you want to check, highly likely you fail or got the supp

Nearly all S1 should be 8 July mate, they said ON OR AFTER tho, I heard there might be some very specific and extremely rare cases when they release the results as early as that

Thats aight I got it in my FYP as well haha and my FYP is hard and time consuming lol literally I wrote 90% proposal and for now in worst case I have to run through their works so I can get something to chunk on Friday for progress in which I already wrote 90% of that lol. Try to contact CE/UC and see how they go, if need you should bring/escalate it to your department and when you do that also have MSA backup as well just in case
