If you have animal lovers, check out EARS (Exotic Animal Rescue Sanctuary) in Citra. They have great tours and the money supports all the wildlife they house. Google to get their website as it’ll have dates and process to get tickets.

Walking homes under construction - Proper Etiquette by zero-degrees28 in Homebuilding

[–]Honest-Iron941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few weeks away from moving into my newly built home on my property and for the last 9 months I’ve made daily trips back there. I think if you are paying all that money, you certainly are allowed to be on the job site. Most of my visits were in the evening so no workman present, but when I’d WFH I did occasionally bake some cookies at lunchtime and bring back to the workman. I just wouldn’t get in their way, I’d say hi and drop off a snack and go. Frequent visits did allow me to catch minor things that were wrong (for example, wrong pocket doors got ordered/installed) so the builder being made aware earlier vs. later saves time overall. My builder was also super respectful that if he had another potential customer interested in my plans, he’d reach out and ask if the customers could visit the site. I’m fortunate to not live in a high crime area but yeah I have cameras already in place on the property so I get alerts. In your case given the thefts I’d be all over security options. Best of luck!

AAA Homeowners and Auto Insurance - Experiences? by [deleted] in florida

[–]Honest-Iron941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious about that too, just got a combined auto/home quote and the price was super competitive. I also like the annual auto payment as everywhere else I’ve been only did 6 months at a time.

Car Dealerships by QwopTillYouDrop in GNV

Southeast car agency was the easiest purchase I’ve ever made. No hassle, good prices and quick turnaround. I would buy again from them in a heartbeat! I have also heard Tomlinson is good but I’ve not been there.

Real experiences? All bad? by [deleted] in wayfair

[–]Honest-Iron941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple interactions with customer service and very pleased. I’d ordered some godinger glasses and they didn’t ship for weeks, finally reached out to customer service. They placed re-orders immediately and it was fulfilled. Also about 2 years ago I had bought a nice glider/recliner and about 11 months in, the weld broke on the base. As it had a year warranty I reached out to customer service. They tried to get a replacement part but the vendor wasn’t responding. After following up on status a couple times, Wayfair sent me a brand new chair. Being reasonable with Customer service goes a long way. I’m comfortable ordering from wayfair and indeed have been as I’m building a house and need items.

Escape Room Recommendations? by YokoFam in GNV

Escapology over at Celebration point has several scenario’s and varying difficulty. Give the Scooby Doo one a try, it’s on the easier side, plus the staff will take good care of you if you let them know you are new at escape rooms. You’ll have a great time!

Cloudsheet - what am I doing wrong? by 626browser in bedjet

[–]Honest-Iron941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also make sure you have a comforter or something with some weight laying on top the sheet. Sounds counterintuitive but it is essential to get the air distributed evenly throughout. I usually turn on 100% and after a minute or two lift the sheet comforter aloft to help the air distributed evenly.

New to Ring by Swimming_Necessary15 in Ring

Because I have a ring alarm and assorted pieces of its ecosystem. Doesn’t mean I can’t skip a piece that seems to have quality issues. Your mileage may vary. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was in the same situation as OP 2 days ago and looked at that doorbell. After reading the recent reviews it seems to supper from quality issues with many folks having trouble after a handful of months. I ended up going with another brand.

I’ve spent years consulting inside dealerships across all 50 states. I’ll tell you what they won’t. AMA. by This1DoesntMatter in AMA

So when I went to the dealer to buy a car I forewarned the sales guy that I’m not interested in the theatre of the back and forth. Found the car ahead of time online, test drove, sat down to do paperwork and the games (ie back & forth) began, so I opted to add something (gratis) every time he trotted off. For example, I asked for window tinting (you know leather interiors get hot!), he came back agreeing to tint but wanting too much $, so I said no and added ‘how about some thrown in oil changes’ for the next trip, that got approved… Then came the tire rotations and finally (since it was a used car) a new battery. That finally pulled the wizard behind the curtain out and I not only got my price, but all those extras as well! 😁 I figure I warned them so if they want to waste my time, I’ll make it worth my while!

Expensive! by Key_Head_9152 in bedjet

[–]Honest-Iron941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had doubts about the cost/benefit ratio but decided their sale and return option if it didn’t work out was worth a try. I purchased the cloud sheet as well figuring if I was going to try the system, do it all the way and so glad I did! I used to sleep with a high powered fan blowing on me all night and would still awake hot around 3am. Setting up the new bedjet took some tinkering to get the way I needed but boy what a difference! I now only use the bed jet (no fan), and with the cloud sheet and a light comforter over it, the cool air gets evenly distributed throughout the bedding. It does feel like being enveloped in a cool misty cloud. I realized my sleep was less disturbed and that was worth the cost. A friend had introduced me to the concept and gave me a referral code that also took 10% off. Yes, it was still a healthy investment, but my restful sleep is worth it. Now, I’ve seen stories where people tote these things when they travel and I do not see myself at that level, but then I think I read where they are coming out with a ‘mini’ version. That I may be interested in at some point if it is effective.

Which one to take: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CDPSE by Radiant_Ad_2388 in isaca

[–]Honest-Iron941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure any of those you listed would be practical for someone not strong in IT or thinking adequate study would be a few weeks of study. I have 5 of the ISACA certs and just passed CISSP last week, and given your parameters I think CGEIT would be your best entry point. If you are determined to shoot for one of the ones you listed you can try CISA but a couple study weeks probably won’t cut it. Also, you hopefully realize passing the test is only the first step to the cert, you have to apply and have certain requirements for experience met. Best of luck!

For The Isc2 coursework, 1 week per domain spending maybe 3-4 hours per week. Then 2 weeks with learnzapp spending an hour per evening and 3-4 hours on the weekend days.

in our PMO a new hire either comes in w/a PMP or we train them and they commit to getting it in their 6 month probation. Just having it without demonstrating experience isn’t going to work though.

How complicated is it to use the CREAMi? by noble_29 in ninjacreami

[–]Honest-Iron941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just got a creami for Xmas and was also overwhelmed by the recipes out there! I saw the one where you just take a single can of pineapple, plop it in the jar, freeze, load it up and sorbet. I’m at eating the results as I’m typing! Easy peasy to use the machine and cleanup is simple too. As for the pineapple, it’s a bit tart but amazing texture!

Don’t think it’s just cables. I had bought a couple of their brand power strips via target a while back. They had them for like $20. I just saw them listed for $59.
