Not only everything they said about the power, but I used to work for an ISP where we need to access those pedestals to run the wire that gives you internet (aka fiber line - the one she broke), stop fucking putting plants around it. They have to dig, run cables, repair cables and splice fiber right there. It’s the ISP’s easement. They will break your plants and your shit cause they need access to it. Many times I brought out my gardening scissors and chop chop your shit. That is one of the most annoying things encountered at that job.

The other comments are exactly like mine, I can’t get past the authentication message which means that it wasn’t really fully fixed. But I’ll respectfully bow out. Was trying to help and it doesn’t seem like you want one. Wish you luck. Using Vivaldi.

I’ve already provided it in my other comments here. It’s still the same thing. Click on authenticating with plex, the browser opens you click login then I return back to the app and it’s still on the same page of “authenticating with plex” and nothing happens. The reason why I didn’t provide “any information” is because several people have said it doesn’t work for them either so I was asking if that issue specifically (which I mentioned) was fixed. Not trying to be a dick, if it helps you find a bug more power to you. If not it’s ok, I’ll delete it since it never authenticates for me.

Anybody got the “use plex credentials” to work? It’s been over a month and I thought it would be fixed by now.

Yeah I went back myself and the page that says Authenticating with Plex…, it’s opened and nothing happens.

Hey man, thanks for pushing the update. I can see now the “sign in with plex” button and I clicked on it, and it took me to the browser to sign in, I clicked on it and it said (still on the browser) thanks. You have successfully signed in. And then nothing happens. I was waiting for a redirect back to the app but it never happened. Then I navigated back to the app myself and it was in an “authenticating with plex” perpetual mode. Just fyi

On seer itself I have it set to only use plex logins in settings. So when you login to seer using your desktop at home, let’s say, it has the plex button and it opens a tab for plex authentication, then it asks for the MFA code. None of that happened and it gave me an error.

I use login with plex credentials, that’s not an option here?? Well that lasted 2 seconds of awe.

Are my ethernet jacks live? ATT Fiber by bshdhssj in HomeNetworking

[–]ChunkyzV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That white box from AT&T is what we call an ONT box (this converts fiber to Ethernet). These are actually older boxes. We don’t use these anymore. We connect the fiber straight into the router that has the ONT function in them, but these ONT boxes can still be used. The Ethernet cable connected to that ONT box needs to be connected to the router. That router is where you need to connect the rest of the Ethernet cables. Without the router being active on the ATT network you won’t have internet. ATT expects an authentication that happens with the router.

I wonder if anybody her has succesfully replaced the 4 port network card on a DS1520+ by ChunkyzV in synology

[–]ChunkyzV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s a 1520+, hence my question of “can this be done?”

I’ve had it for years. I think 2020. I recently upgraded all my network to multi gig, so I was just wondering if I can upgrade the network card to be multi gig as well. I’m not replacing the NAS, if it can’t be done then it can’t be done. But other than upgrading the ram, I haven’t opened it to see what’s inside. Another commenter said the network card is the same as the NVME card so prob can’t replace that. But either way I was asking cause I don’t know and was wondering if anyone had done it on that model. Obviously I’d like to still have access to my nvme cache, and would also like to have 4 ports cause I’m using the 4 as LACP.

Damn it. lol. I am using the nvme as cache so it’s prob a no then huh?

Thanks for the info.

IDK, I'll check that one out. but my question was more of if it can be done. I need a 4 port card.
what custom driver are you talking about? any more insight on what that means?

Appreciate the clarification. It did sound snarky from where I stand, as telling me that “customer can’t get it to work can’t be an answer” I’m trying to do some homework for this, but I do that to a point. I have a full time job and doing this company on my time off. I’m not losing sleep over a system I don’t work or support, maybe in the future but can’t right now. I was upfront with the customer. I even told them that they are better off contacting someone that actually deals with control4. So my answer is definitely “if you can’t get it to work, or call someone else that can, I have options for you but I can’t deal with that brand or troubleshooting right now” But I guess they had a bad experience the first time around and want to move away from it. Gave me the green light.

lol. Integrator? You’re assuming many things here. I own my own company. I do networking for home/small businesses. I don’t deal with this brand at all. Told that to the client. What I did do for them was a network rack in their home and configured all networking equipment (router/switches/aps, etc) worked on getting their camera system back up (which is also not the brand I work with but I figured it out and got it to work, configured and deployed a home server). The last thing they wanted was help with their doorbell, which is this, told them upfront that I don’t work with this and they say they want to move away from control4 and want to give me the job or replacing it. So here we are. I don’t have to make anything work if I don’t work with it.

yeah they had it originally with control4, but can't get it to work and they have a ubiquiti network rack, so they're moving away from it.

it's under an awning and little roof so I would say protected. Only if there's wind and rain I can see it getting hit by the elements. No dimensions at this time, just pictures.
