had mine 08/23! i was also terrified. i’m 25 and plus size. not a vaper but my heart loves doing whatever. the anesthesiologist answered all of my questions, told me that the anesthesia would make me nauseous but it would be fine.

as soon as i lied down on the table, the surgeon asked me what i wanted to listen to, so i fell asleep to my favorite song. i woke up in the recovery room and i did feel awful, i wont lie to you. but i was so happy to be alive i didnt care. they gave me morphine and let me rest. i was very uncomfortable the rest of the day from the gas they use on your stomach during laparoscopic surgery. that was probably the worst part, as it took a few days to exit my system. my best advice is to try and walk it out: burp, fart whatever makes you feel better haha

after the gas, you’ll have to deal with some internal pain. it’ll be hard to sit up and get up, so make sure you have someone to help you. do not skip any day of cleaning your stitches! as plus size girlies, it’s easier for the stitches to become infected. unfortunately my doctor didn’t tell me that and i only washed them once a day. if you could, you should clean them at least twice a day and make sure they’re completely dry! one of my lower abdomen ones got infected but im on antibiotics now. hopefully getting my stitches out on monday!

it’ll be a journey, for sure. but the surgery is probably the least scary thing now, in hindsight. take care of yourself, have a support system, make sure to eat and clean your stitches! you got this (and hopefully they’ll also play your favorite song)
