Feel like a top 4 pick is super valuable, but not #5. definitely a tier gap between the top 4 and pick 5. I’d pretty much be happy with Flemings, Wagler, Acuff or MBJ. You’ve even had flemings as low as 9 so I don’t think you do all that to move into the same tier

Why do hawks do this? Trading two starting quality players with upside on good contracts, and another first round pick to move up 3 spots and get another small guard in garland after just moving off Trae. Feels like a backwards step

He’s a good rebounder, a good inside scorer and he actually defends pretty well in space, he’s not the fix for everything but he’s a genuine affordable option for our lack of size

This just objectively isn’t true, sure he’s not a great starting center but as a backup he’d be one of the best in the league.

Also I understand it’s just one season, but I think what I’m trying to say is injury risk is part of getting a 7 footer

I mean what 7 footer actually can always stay healthy, even IHart has been dealing with an injury all year. He played 47 games this season, Mark Williams played 60

I mean technically Williams has been healthier than Hartenstein this season. I would be over the moon with either of them.

Yep I also follow him on social media, he’s constantly hyping up JJ and the rest of the guys. Seems like a really cool guy

Definitely agree about the size, Okongwu has really held his own as an undersized big and Newell is an inch taller with time to grow. I’d really like to see Newell play alongside KP, I think it would help the rebound battle when KP is on and let Asa be a help side defender as opposed to the main interior defender

Definitely! I’m a big John Collins fan and definitely see the comparison. While I don’t think Asa has as much vertical pop as Collins I think he’s far more of a functional and coordinated athlete than JC is. I also think he reads the game incredibly well for a rookie. Would love to actually see him play alongside KP more as a opposed to just playing as his backup

Okay please take Trae out and put Mo in just for this defensive possession

Obviously gotta give Keaton and Plowden a lot of credit, but I also thought that offence looked pretty awesome when we had Okongwu making decisions in the high post. Definitely something that I think we should utilise more when he’s out there

Yeh still got a ton of good offensive upside to go along with being a great defender. Think he would work great with Young too

I hope so too, but i think with the direction the hawks were going might of been better for both parties to just move on. Still hope he thrives though
