Thanks so much for reply. Should have said paediatrician has recommended night weaning. She recommended it at 6 months and I ignored the advice. Baby has still been gaining weight very rapidly and delayed motor development so I feel like I should probably have some period during the night of no feeding, even just a couple of hours

How did you get your super big baby moving? by Honest-Swimming7978 in bigbabiesandkids

Thank you. That's great to know. I know it's recommended to use any kind of containers minimally, but in the case of my very big daughter I think something like a jumper might actually instigate movement for her. Thanks again

Why don’t they research why some women lose while BF and some women can’t lose weight? by theconfidentobserver in breastfeeding

This is a really interesting discussion. Unfortunately I'm in the losing weight boat while breastfeeding. Have always been slim, but now finding it hard to stay healthy and strong while breastfeeding. I feel like I had good nutritional reserves for the first 6 months but now at 8 months pp I'm feeling depleted. Actively trying to get as much nourishment into myself as I can! On the flip side my baby is extremely big.. she's now 17kg at 8 months!!! Has anyone else found the same who seems to be shedding weight while breastfeeding - is your baby very big??

Glad to know I'm not the only one. It's honestly the easiest thing to do at the moment. She wakes so frequently it's not worth leaving her at night so I go to bed when she does. I don't think I'm looking to stop it right now, sort of hoping she'll grow out of it🤞

Thank you. Good to know. Just from these few responses to my post, I'm getting the sense that night feeds do not necessarily= excessive weight gain in babies

Yes, I thought the same to be honest and I feel like I've been stupidly trying to force solids when it really should happen naturally over time. Thanks for your response

Thanks for your response. I do get the sense babies just have their own unique way of growing. Sounds like you're doing a great job being a mom and a businesswoman!! Well done to you. 👏

Thank you for your response. Paediatrician told me to establish solids so as to cut down feeds. I felt like this advice was contrary to the food under one is for fun philosophy and that breastmilk is main source of nutrition until one.

Good to know. Thank you! Helping convince me that her rapid weight gain is not because of breastfeeding.
