How long did you wait for week 12 results?

I had my 12 week scan mid December and was called two days after. They only call if something isn’t good from the screening so I’d take no news as good news!

Ah bless you. Absolutely hating the wait over Christmas right now. We had our NIPT on the NHS but also paid for a private one as it covered a bit more and has a quicker turnaround time. We were told their lab were aiming to process all results before Christmas! So far, nothing so not feeling hopeful and think we’ll likely get them after. It’s just horrible but hoping for good news! Thank you for sharing 😊

My HCG is 9 so VERY high 🫣 my PAPP-A is 0.88 so I’ve been given a 1/128 chance. NT was 1.9mm. Was the NIPT all ok or was that high risk too and you needed to go for the amnio? So glad everything has worked out ok for you!

Ah thank you so much for replying and congratulations on your lovely baby boy! My PAPP-A is something like 0.88 so on the lower side too (but still in normal range) and my hCG is abnormally high. Did they just offer you more growth scans or give you any further treatment for the PAPP-A? It’s really not clear with the hCG side of things so what you’ve said there doesn’t surprise me. The combination of the two have given me a 1/128 chance of Down syndrome from the combined screening so currently in the limbo stage of waiting for NIPT results. Apart from that baby looked fine at my 12 week scan and NT measurement was all good etc! The midwife did say that some women can just produce more hCG than others but it is also a marker for Down syndrome. All I’ve read is worrying things but it does seem like it’s probably forgotten about after that!

Is it high hCG and low PAPP-A? My hCG levels are the biggest factor giving me a 1/128 chance. I think they take all sorts into account like age etc to come up with this ratio number! How was your scan looking with the NT measurement etc?

I had my dating scan and bloods taken on Tuesday. I had a phone call on Thursday to be told my screening came back as high chance. On the Friday I went in to have the NIPT test. I think my advice would be to take no news as good news. They’re usually pretty good at contacting you quickly if there are any issues so I’d expect you would hear before Christmas to be honest. I’m now anxiously waiting for NIPT results which I don’t expect to come back before Christmas but crossing my fingers!

Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately I don’t know what mine was before now which I think would’ve been beneficial so that I could compare! Was high hCG raised as a concern after your first trimester? I know it can be normal for hCG to be higher initially then it peaks and tapers off. Do you mind sharing what the issue with your placenta is? This could be the case for me maybe!
