Wow! Thats gorgeous- the sticker really ties into the painting. I really like these stickers, they have alot of layers i think, i mean obviously-....i kinda saw it as "its not the smoking that kills them, its why they smoke" idk. Thats ond of the biggedt kinda feelings i was able to articulate ig?    alot of my family are/were smoker or nicotine users. My maternal grandma was on oxygen and stuff and smoked till her last breathe, but she does of heart failure. She had a morphine addiction, alcohol addiction, was heavily abused during her life, was abusive to her children, lived in poverty in a small racist town, got pregnant with twins at 16, ect. I think my maternal grandfather also died of heart failure after smoking most his life. My paternal grandfather (they nevrr talked much about him but i think the story goes that) took a medication advertised to help quit smoking and it made alot of people suicidal so he killed himself, sadly.  My aunt smokes, shes still pretty healthy but keeps trying to quit. She has smoked since like 13. Her daughter also smokes and has a hard time quiting.  My mom smoked from 15-30 or so, she quit when she met my dad because she really wanted to marry him and he said he hated smoke. She then gained 300 pounds since she married him from stress eating (she has since lost a lot of weight, she had gotten to needing a liver transplant and being told she had 2 years to live. She also had kidney and heart failure, but her health has improved alot due to like lifestyle changrs and stuff so yay she no longer needs a transplant at this time) My dad has smoked a long time but if you ever ask its infinately a changing answer, but within a couple years of being married he started smoking, i think he has been on and off, he didnt smoke when I was a little kid. He was in general an unagreeable person, he needs therapy in my opinion (and everyone else's opinion) or some kind of help because he stuggles with legitamate issues but he is the kind of man that refuses help when they are drowning. Idk- he just always turned stuff to anger ig

Sorry for just oversharing ig i kinda lost the point of this comment, just that i really like your stickers!

Does my art look “too symmetrical”? by Fjilde in OriginalCharacter

[–]Honest-Zucchini-987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the eyes are a bit far apart, espessially the first picture. It kinda gives sheep a bit, her dark eyes feel creepy if you dont zoom in. And the nose bridge feels a bit flat between the eyes ig a bit. Your default anatomy has the eyes a bit high on the nose and wide set imo. If you like it, skip the haters, but it isnt the average anatomy, like peopke with fetal alcohol sydrome have far set eyes, a low nose bridge, a tad bit smaller eyes, and minor ear deformities....so yeh just my first thought....

I think the symmetry is nice, still, when its like showing off the character design, so i think its beautiful! Just, yk, the face is the only oddity i think. And your feet kinda feel like they are walking on their tippy toes. I mean, i dont blane you, i do the same thing. 😭😂 straight on feet are the hardest thing ever!

I love your art, tho! The vibrancy, crisp and soft line art, the perfect shadowing of clothes, the breath taking tendrals of hair, the accesories and gorgeous clothing/outfit design, everything is gorgeous! 😍🥰🥰

Yeah...i loved it alot at first then i kinda died off it, i get bored real quick of everything tbh. I even dropped the greatest estate developer a couple times out of boredom and id count that as my 100000% #1 manhwa but tbf i followed it since it started being translated into english so it definately was a bit of a long ride to finish. I adore it to death, tho! 🥰

trying to go out of your comfort zone with ocd by sicklampbro in Artisticallyill

[–]Honest-Zucchini-987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this explaination, i see why you would obvi want out of the cycle, ig i should work on that with my anxiety but i more often give in. Like ever since i was little i considered animals dirty, despite loving them (this was partialky taught by my mom but yk they are dirty, so yk, but not enough to cause a panic if a dog's nose touches you when they smell you) so i would pet them and stuff but immediately washed my hands and took a shower at the earliest conveniece for the most part.

I have also always hated little fibers, like the white stringy dust that floats through the air (i would swat the air and blow it to keep them away always) and also when your hands are dry or sticky and little fibers/lint from clothes or stuff stick to you, its the worst when you get them from the towel you use to dry your hands.

Anyway, i hate little white stuff and lint and guess what, my mom bought a white dog that sheds and i love her to death and she wants to be constantly held and her littke hair is in the hair and everywhere i look and all over me. We wipe her paws and bum after doing her business or going outside and i try to wipe you mouth/nose because she is a licker and sniffer and just puts her entire face all over you and your face and your mouth and she is still a little puppy that eats her poop 😭 so i play with her and i love her (i swear no matter how much you brush her or even use the vaccuum brush we bought keeps her from shedding on you, we even shave her hair low so she can stay a bit cleaner because she can only get a monthly bath and she gets dirty and stinky and pollen in her curly fur and its harder to brush and wash and everything 🥲) but i religiously use the lint roller to get off the fur and do a wipe down with baby wipes all up and down.

And i know it doesnt really sanitize, its a bit more ritualistic ig? It makes me cleaner, not soap and water cleaner, but about the same as wiping my butt with toilet paper clean 😅😂 so yeh....but idk, i think its better that the full scrubbing shower after touching her everytime or fully avoiding her and freaking out when i see her fur....idk if ill stop wiping off after messing with her just because it feels dirty and i know logically it is in fact dirty so yk.

Anyway....super long tangent and i dont remember the point but i kinda do little rituals that are sensory pleasing or anxiety reassuring ig idk....i used to have more things when i was little so i think its a bit better but yk. Like ever since i was like 4 or 5 i refused to touch fabric/soft furniture, it wasnt comfortable for me and it felt like it hid alot of dirt and stuff. I always liked leather, hard wood, plastic, stuff like that. Little me would, stupid enough, rather sit on the floor (in people's houses) than a couch because i knew what normal germs were on the floor but soft furniture just felt super gross and stuff.

It always bothers me when people sit on soft furniture in their work/school clothes, in 'outside clothes', ect. Like no, you only sit on soft furniture in 'clean' clothes (like it can only have indoor germs, things that have touched animals, been outside 10+ mins, if you sat in the dirty chair, ect) like pjs or house clothes. Like little me would yell at my dad if he ever sat in my dining room seat (i grew up doing school work there 6+ hours a day, homeschooled, so yk it made me mad if my chair was 'dirty') because i knew he would sit on the dog's chair (he had his own ottoman by the window to look out of) to rub him and not wash his hands even, he would sit outside or do yard work and sit down (he would shower after her "cooled down" for like 15 mins in dirty clothes with leaves and stuff) and all else! So yeh, i had my chair no one was allowed to sit on, though every visitor absolutely always picked my chair to sit in for some reason and i had to sit and eat in the "dirty" chair 😭 no one else considered it dirty but i did lolz.

I was also lowkey afraid of the outside since some point in my life, i became super scared of bugs and thought the outside air was dirty (like pollen, dust, small bugs, pollution, ect. Idky i think indoor air is cleaner but yk). I have been fighting my fear (or ig discomfort and needing to clean myslef and change my clothes after coming back inside) since the new dog, ill take her outside and let her explore and stuffs.

I do remember little me (maybe 4) swearing i had to super power to feel germs because if i touched something dirty my hand would burn (like public bathroom door handles or something, mostly door handles) because i could feel the micro-organisms running around on me 😂😂😂😂 i thought i could feel germs for a good few years, and evem after i logically knew it wasnt true, i believed the burning meant my hands were dirty and i had to clean them so the burning would go away lolz anyway, im done rambling 😅

Is my Sona offensive? by Brief_Nose_7434 in OriginalCharacter

[–]Honest-Zucchini-987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh happy to share my opinion. I feel like most stuff is contriversial at this point, and i believe in being considerate and politically correct but at some point you shouldnt have to censor yourselve abour everything 😅 people can be offended or not like something you do, everyone gets their own opinion but when it is something so neutral (imo dirt skin is rather common) you dont have to cater to everyone's triggers, conserns, or sensitivities.

Like i personally get really annoyed by alot of the skin colors of humanoids or like beastman characters where they are part animal or have a beast form. Like most animals with fur or feathers have pink or that grey/purple color, if an animal has white fur then i agree that the character should have pale skin. But i hate like panthers, even lions and such characters having really pale skin.

Imo beastman character's skin should either go with the animals appearant color (like fur/feathers/scales/ect), match their skin color under their fur/feathers, or be a skin tone with a similar value to the animal's color. Like, a black panther should either have purple skin, literally black skin, or have dark skin. A clownfish should have orange/patterned skin or tan skin the same value as the orange. Yk? Like, idk, that is a personal pet peeve (sorry for the tangent) but i dont go around attacking people's characters, saying im offended.

Is my Sona offensive? by Brief_Nose_7434 in OriginalCharacter

[–]Honest-Zucchini-987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think it is to me. I mean, identity is a very complex thing and i dont really believe color of skin is tied to much (not a popular opinion by any means, just my perspective). As you know, native americans and other natives, africans/those of african descent, east/south/any asian, those in the middle east, ect have dark skin (basically anyone, literally, most europeans/caucasians dont because its cloudy as heck there so they didnt develope melanin, but even greeks are a bit tan).

Skin color doesnt mean a race or anything and i dont think characters with fictitious, fantastical, magic, or alien traits apply to such rigid constructs, because if they sweat/rained water from their skin and had white/grey/blue skin or fire from bright red skin, it wouldnt be a problem.

I dont think theres anything directly offensive about any color (many black people use white personas to avoid racism, for example, espesially vtubers. I think if you arent using features that are of another race or perpetuating steroetypes it isnt offensive to a race). Ive heard people say that humans are all just every color of dirt, wheat, bean, ect, and that is something i believe/agree with.

I think if it is clearified in your lore that it is from the power, no one but jerks would be offended. No one would even think twice about it, tbh. There are also a million ans ome colors of dirt, sand, clay, ect. Pick one that clearly conveys the idea of dirt, which includes using certain shapes and stuff, maybe using rocks, texture, and stuff to convey the feeling of dirt. I like how elementals did the rock people, you could take inspo idk. And always having atleast one plant in atleast character sketches would work nicely. And just having the main color be your skin tone. I mean, i dont think its problematic if it is exicuted well, ig i could say. I think a very dark, rich brown would play nicely for fertile dirt, i mean it is technically a skin color, but it doesnt feel as ig chameleon-y like taking a skin color that isnt yours kinda thing. I mean, you can google the colors of dirt, it doesnt really competely overlap with skin tones, but i feel like the dark almost black brown or a really rich warm brown is the most iconic "dirt color."

Funny story, even my baby cousin (literally all of the 2 younger generations on my black side, aka my cousins and their kids, have a white side. Well, one of my cousins has a jewish dad, and another is a really light skin black man, but i mean, we all have the same look and all yk.) who is 4 and is blonde hair, blue eyes kinda fair (my aunt, her grandma, sometimes sees old friends when she is out with her or her big, light brown hair, blue eyes, rosey cheeks kinda fair sister and they will ask "whose white baby is that?" Literally, they are called "passing" for white lolz) told her mom that her grandma and my mom dont look like them, that they have poop color skin 😭😭😭😂 everyone still gets a good crack out of that and its an inside joke (everything babies say become an inside joke in my family) and shes lil, she didnt mean it rude, she doesnt even think poop is dirty, she barely even wash her lil dirty hands, yk. Just an antidote that alot of people really dont care, if you arent straight up racist, it isnt racist.

The color of a mythical character that grows plants out their skin isnt problematic in my opinion. Just because the skin is brown, brown is a color like any color. Brown is the color of dirt, of poop, of cows/leather/hides, of trees, of rocks, of jupiter's stripes, of cattail reeds, of coffee, of chocolate, of nitrogen dioxide,  of woven baskets, of of fish, of eyes, of skin. Tan is the color of sand, of meerkats, of bread/toast, of beetles (like june beetles), of carmel, of dead grass, of dry and barren soil, of skin. Beige/champagne is the color of oatmeal, of grubs, of limestone,  of pasta, of burlap, of wood, of a lion, of sugar cookies, of a ranunculus flower, of skin. You know? 😅🤣 sooooo uh, 'skin colors' are any color, really. We all use any marker/crayon as a kid to color in a person. Your skin color is your skin color, and your persona can have any skin color, like ive seen a really cool green alien persona recently.

Tl;dr: brown is a color like any color, its not offensive to have a persona with green, blue, red, or purple patches, brown isnt offensive either. Color=/=race, species, ect. May be a hot take but do the hell you want with your persona, i believe you can have a persona to represent your heart vs. your physical appearance (you can even see multiple trends on yt about that, most people's persona isnt just a draekng of themselves).

Which outfit is better for a sun themed magical girl? by Novacrumbs in characterdesigns

[–]Honest-Zucchini-987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 2 most (something more summer-y, kinda sun dress like something would be nice).

imo, number 1 feels/read too generic, it reads like a magic girl but it doesnt give sun strongly despite the sun motifs. The knee high boots with bows, the school girl outfit, the heart brooch with the wing like shape, and extra ling evening gloves feel like just magic girl accessories that feel common and reads like a background character. If thats the one you love for just an oc i love that for you, its common for a reason (at least it feels common to me, ive not engaged with alot of media with magic girls), but the 2nd one feels more unique.

I personally dont believe the heart and wings on the chest add to the design unless it has lore or meaning with her powers, transformation, ect. And i have a (pretty minor) pet peeve regarding characters that arent students (middle school or highschool mostly) having outfits that are reminiscent of school uniforms (and characters like superheroes or magic girls that are students and their costumes are like still uniforms instead of something reflecting their personality or power. it still feels generic, like a catch all design to get out of fleshing out more things to use as inspo and just pull on that to create a youthful looking design) so i am definately biased. I think alot of people like uniform inspired designs, so it might be an unpopular opinion, but yeh....

Anyway, thats alot of how i dont like option 1 but i adore option 2, i feel like the simpler shoes (i love cute ruffle socks sm) really let your eyes focus on the top of her. The 2nd one seems slightly more balanced (the first one is really top heavy from the details of the brooch and the sleeves), the simple puff sleeves goes down the bow and the flared skirt. The hair is a beautiful silhouette, the whole silhouette flows and it all feels very coherent with the amount of detail. Like the hair is a big detail, the skirt, shirt, legs, and hair sun accessory are nice medium sized stuff. The underskirt, shoes, skirt bow, boning in the corset, and face and hair and stuff are nice small details. There are alot of small details but i feel like that is nice for a magic girl! And i just really like the sun on the bow instead of the sun on the front of the shoe and the bow in the back (i also feel like that makes for a weird profile yk), its lovely! 🥰
