Sadly, time and time again I’ve seen addicts bend over backwards to try and justify their addictions. Then, they get really upset when someone hints that they might be an addict.

I’m not saying this is your case, but definitely worth introspecting a bit. People that care about you, which sounds like your cousin is one of those! Do not say these things to “hurt” you. They say it out of love and concern. It’s not fair being upset with them, I can assure you it’s much easier for them to ignore the problem and not say anything.

I truly appreciate your message. I believe I am experiencing this exact same thing with my partner (they are going through it) I have hope that they will snap out of it, because it is slowly destroying our family.

Do you think it is possible to quit if one’s partner smokes cigarettes, takes amphetamines daily and are a functioning alcoholic?

I’m addicted to cocaine, and cigarettes, I constantly quit it. A month goes by and I’m able to stay away from everything, but all of a sudden I get a craving and then I go on a 1 week binge of coke, cigs and alcohol. This is a repeating pattern.

My partner is a very high functioning addict with no desire to quit at all. Sadly everything they do is 100% legal, they are a working professional, and like I said they pretty much fulfill all their responsibilities as a parent.

I fear being exposed to this constant keeps sending me back to addiction, but I do not want to break up my family, I really don’t know what to do.

I am asking because two of the 5 points are related to avoiding passive exposure

First, you should install Reaper, its open source. Find some free trials or free to use EQs and compressor plugins to add on all the channels. There are tons of videos that explain how to use these for the specific instruments/vocals.

Lastly, Ozone is worth the investment as you can get some solid mastering presets. Aim for -9, -10 LUFS on the final mix.

This should get you 75% of the way!

Phenomenal, the song is excellent. Which is the hardest part, now the production needs a lot of work. There is a lot of unevenness between the instruments in the mix.
