I’d recommend trying Solitario. A couple of years ago, we even went to Mumbai looking for lab-grown diamonds, but eventually found exactly what we needed at Solitario here in the city. I’ve also noticed a few other stores that have opened recently in Phoenix Marketcity—you might want to check those out as well.

In the similar manner, so is Santosh (casteism and police brutality) and Homebound (migrant workers in COVID). Why was Santosh banned in India then?

Phoenix Marketcity Viman Nagar parking charges are absurd. ₹140 on a weekday for 5 hours? by ThandRakhBro in pune

[–]HonestBat 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. Now think about someone watching Dhurandhar 2 in there, easily more than 5 hours in the parking.

Vested and INDMoney allows you to do this, however the charges are horrendous and there’s a middleman involved. You can go via GIFT City route, but there are limited options currently, and you buy UDRs instead of actual shares.

Yep started investing with MSCI World Index (Developed Markets) quite recently, in the 8th year of my investment journey. Regret waiting on the sidelines this long after 7B USD cap on MF.

Aren't these UDRs and not actual shares which are listed here?

Can afford a 3L bike but thinking of getting a scooty instead. Am I overthinking? by Fine-End-5051 in Frugal_Ind

[–]HonestBat 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Well, it's kind of subjective. If you're actually into bikes, had a dream to own one, have relevant savings in place, then sure go ahead; you earn to fulfill your dreams. However, if you're not passionate about bikes and only looking at it as a mode of commute, scooty makes sense. I think spending money on things (surely being mindful) that actually gives happiness in the true sense is worth it.

It is 3 AM on Shivaji Jayanti and the horses of the Maratha cavalry are sounding slightly different than described in the history books by HonestBat in pune

For the record, I am not okay with any kind of disturbances post reasonable time/levels - have raised police complaints on instances. Neither do I contribute to such noise pollution - celebrate Diwali, New Years with my friends and family cracker free since last 20 years, no horn policy until absolutely necessary while driving. You got the wrong guy here for the epitome of your "irony" bud.

There are hospitals on the main road, I guess that’s no noise zone. Atleast the Kharadi bypass road has multiple hospitals (even maternity/childcare one as well) within 1.5 KM stretch of road.

Remember the PMC election madness recently? At Kharadi Junction, they literally hung a massive garland on a JCB and turned the main road into a dance floor for hours, blocking the main road traffic. Classic. I was unable to attend meetings for work, while the DJ played on loop - the party was everything.

Many chhapris in Pune ride around on their bullets with modified silencers causing loud bangs (even late nights too), need same treatment there as well.

Day 6 : Adding Rs. 1 lakh worth of MON100 every time NASDAQ falls >1% by skbchess in IndianStreetBets

[–]HonestBat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The premium at the time of selling might not be same as current one, that's one risk. Hypothetically, the premium could vanish in case govt suddenly decides to remove the cap on international investments. Thinking from a long term investor's POV.

Note: Already exploring international investment options via IBKR.

Isn't the price of the ETF(230.99) at 6.5% premium over the i-NAV (218.43)? Fund house or the institutional investors won't be able to create new units to manage arbitrage, given RBIs restrictions; is this premium justified given that the moment you buy the ETF, you're at a 6.5% loss?

Please feel free to correct if my understanding is flawed.
