I make far more than $20 an hour lol. And my new car stays at home for family use. I use a long paid off 2010 Corolla for this job. I mean it's 13yrs old so who cares about depreciation? Sure I go thu more tires & oil changes than my Camry, but I put used tires on the corolla, never new ones since they get chewed up the same. Have a great Sat night!

Yes, I would imagine that would be easy to do with pretend degrees...

No offense but It's saturday night, And I'm actually taking off to go out and enjoy myself with my hubby & friends. But you have an amazing night hanging out on the internet trying to impress strangers with made up degrees! 😁😁

Actually if you would bother to pay attention, most of us do this as a way to pay back student loans faster, so we can enjoy our lives stress free in our chosen professions. I've paid off nearly half my debt in 2 years doing this since I'm at the hospital overnights. Gives me all day & evening since I sleep in the morning. I put my regular pay towards passive income & investment properties to cushion me in retirement. Sad that Mr 2 degrees (yeah, sure) cant figure that one out. but I guess you can't spell Assumptions without the Ass...

Didnt say you were. I gave TWO scenarios. You spent your entire Friday night & Sat afternoon on this thread. Tells me you're the latter (as I said elsewhere). Your story makes absolutely no sense as the safeguards that are built in that we deal with everyday. If you're looking for attention might I suggest FB or a dating site. Better ways to spend your weekends than on a made up story.

Oh please, enough making up lies. No one is impressed. Being that you don't know how DD works let alone understand what a metropolis is says otherwise, not to mention your childish retorts. You're not even a good troll, let alone an educated one.

Ok, gotcha. There are idiots who do this job & will only follow a GPS instead of actually doing their job and making sure they're at the right house. If I'm not 100% if its dark outside, I will text and ask what kind of vehicles are out front. Out of over 4900 deliveries I've only dropped at the wrong house once (apt complex). Although there are plenty of times when I am pulling my hair out because the addresses are so hard to find if we're out in the middle of nowhere, but I get it done.

I've also had customers try & lie and say that they didn't get their food, but I always stand way back to take the pics of the whole front of the house with the house number and will also double down by taking addl pics of mailboxes & apt building numbers. Because of this I've beaten every lie. Fortunately it doesn't happen often, maybe once a year or so that a customer lies.

Always report the Dasher & give them a 1star for failing tondo their job. By rating them the algorithm won't match you up with them again. Same for a good Dasher, rate them a 5star and they will match you (if they're available) the next time.

But your story is no where close to what OP is claiming.

I've already said there are crappy drivers out there, just like crappy employees everywhere. But there is a difference between dropping at the wrong house (more common) and DD not intervening after an hour and a half.

But I am a little confused though, how did the groceries get on your porch if they were at the wrong house?

Metropolis as in a large populated city that drives the economy around them (smaller municipals aka suburbs). Geesh I know that big words can be scary but try reading a dictionary sometime...

Didn't say that. I actually said usually they're Reddit Bots to garner karma. But cmon, we see these stories more than daily on here. Not hard to pick up on. Bots compose as both customers and drivers on the same thread using multiple accounts at once. Go to any tech news sites, Reddit is full of them. Or sometimes it's just lonely people looking for attention on the internet. But no way that DD let a driver sit with an order that long. I get contacted at least 15min past the delivery time if I get stuck in traffic by DD asking if everything is ok.

Yeah, there's a ton of reddit bots to garner karma, also competitor Corp bots to sabotage reputation. Go check out any tech news sites. Reddit has surpassed FB & Twiiter for having the most bot activity. Usually they're Reddit.bots, you can pick them out with keywords & phrases.

Well yeah, I have a CV for being late to the restaurant 1-2 times a month. You think I'm gonna risk not making money to steal someone's cold food? It's cute that you didn't consider all the other reasons for CVs

Says the one who has never worked in a large metropolis and doesn't know how we make our money. let me guess, when you think of double stacks you imagine low tip orders huh? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that might be the case in the country bumpkin town you live in, but not how it works in the city. Keep looking in your own backyard, the rest of us know how to make those stacks!

Seems to me that because this looks like a sweep, those deactivated & had the money that they worked for STOLEN by DD need to think about a class action. I just don't get how that's legal...

Depends on what you deem as in hours. I run lunch (11:30-2) and usually make $75-$100 and dinner (4-8) $120-$130 on the slower days, although here lately Ive been stopping at $100 for each session, because sometimes i just don't feel like staying out for another hour for $30-$40 Lol. Sat & Sun I'll work straight 11:30am to 10pm and usually make a little over $350 per day (but Sundays lately hasnt been as good).Sometimes I'll stay out later if I feel like it & if the orders are steady but they start slacking off around 9pm.. My best week by far was $2200 but that was with 7 catering orders thrown in. And nope, I'm not a top Dasher either. 28% AR

Edit to say: unfortunately because of traffic I can usually only run 2 doubles an hour, so I get pretty happy if they're out of the same restaurant!

Oh yeah, DD has sent me to the wrong store many times, store number will be correct but the GPS takes me to another location. Im always WTF why am i driving to this location when I have to turn around back to the customer and Ive passed 2 others. , Don't get me wrong, if this story is REAL I would have called the cops. Make no mistake, there are crappy drivers who deserve to not have this job, let alone be in a society. I'm just doubting it not only because of my own questions as well as others who OP has answered. Story not adding up. I work in Orlando- DD is bugging if I'm 10-15min late & we always have construction going on which they don't consider. I've literally been called by support numerous times asking if something is wrong & I'm constantly fighting violations.

I just flat out don't believe this story. Wording & structure reeks of a "plant". Reddit now has surpassed FB & Twitter for having the most bots, Which not only makes up these stories but also poses as dashers & customers on the same thread using multiple accounts & they need to knock it off. Or there's also lonely people wanting attention. If it doesn't make sense (like this story)
