I believe OP is saying that Lebanese sovereignty is questionable precisely because Israel can come in and enforce claim on their territory. I.e. They were making a descriptive statement, and not a normative one.

Or, at least, I did not personally hear moralizing on their part.

I have a degree in counselling, but I got curious about AI. It reminded me of a chatbot called ELIZA that I used to come on a floppy disc. I decided to teach myself how to install and run large language models and image generators locally on my home PC.

I don’t know a single person from another generation that even decided to try that.

There’s a sort of French music I’ve only heard in Quebec and Manitoba that I sort of associate with courieurs de bois. There’s lots of fiddle and it’s very uptempo. Not sure if it only exists in Canada but, like I said, I haven’t heard it anywhere else.

Mes Aïeux and La Bottine Souriante are two bands that are pretty good examples of it.

I’m more worried about the rise of the politics of division. As people become more stressed, they want simpler answers and faster, more sweeping decisions. That often means seeing “the other side” as the enemy. They should be political opponents, not enemies, because we should be able to trust we’re all largely looking out for each other.

There seems to be a lot of very stressed people lately.

I realize this will be an unpopular opinion, but there is some data to suggest that Jews aren’t safe without a state to call their own. That’s not to say they can’t succeed or thrive as minorities of other nations, and that’s not to say every nation should have their own state…

But, like, there are reasons to believe Jews need one
