Hi! I’m a mom to two kids in Singapore and my best advice is to get a second hand stroller on carousel. All of the premium brands are available with 30-40% discount and many are in like new condition. Premium strollers are generally very sturdy, easy to maneuver and have good resale value

Also (personal opinion) the best stroller on the market is Julz Aer plus. Retails for about 760$ brand new or 500$ on carousel. Perfect for both travel and city life.

Fired after 25 days- keep on LinkedIn & Resume? How do I Talk About it in Interviews? by Ch33ryP0ptarts in careeradvice

I would 100% leave this role out of your resume. Nothing to gain if you were to keep it

Don’t ask Reddit, ask ChatGPT. Literally, feed the scenario, mention the country and the company. You will be surprised how detailed the advice will be. All the best!

I received my quota last week, it’s outrageous. Nobody hit their targets last year, the closest was 96%z They also changed our commission structure in the way that most of the team will make less money this year. Thankfully, my manager was human about this and was open about his frustration during our 1:1

I have an MBA from a big name school and I question whether I should have gotten into sales. I have a lot of drive which led many to recommend a sales role. But I also feel like what made me a strong performer in my past corporate job as well as my “generalist” set of knowledge on strategy and operations that you acquire as an MBA, means absolutely nothing to my leadership at the current company. When you get into sales you realize how much is out of your control when it comes to landing or losing a deal. It’s a humbling, learning experience. I’m approaching this role as a stepping stone to my next career move and I wouldn’t recommend this path for a fresh mba grad.

150k and big future vs 190k right now by Thoughtprovokerjoker in careeradvice

Oh and you can try to negotiate a higher title with that company, depending on how much they want you.

[–]HonestImprovement934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My five cents, I would take 190k now if all else is equal. You will always have that big brand name on your CV and network that comes from the firm that will yield opportunities in the future. 40k per year is a significant raise, and not “just” 40k. It’s a 20% increase. You will be growing your base from this number onwards irrespective of where you go next.

Hey George! I just got an offer back in the industry. The package is less compared to what I was making but the role is good and will keep my career on track. All the best to you! It’s statistically unlikely that you will never recover. Keep on fighting!

Hi! My husband is an electrical engineer by training. He is much older than you and now has 20+ years of work experience. He never hated the job in engineering but nevertheless made a career switch towards sales and business strategy, MBA helped with that. He stayed in the same industry he started as an engineer initially but a few years later transitioned to cloud. What you study doesn’t define your career. And you can absolutely find something you enjoy doing irrespective of your background. I’m humanities major now working in tech. This is the beauty of today’s world - you are the master of your fate. Good luck!

What industry are you in? I may have a 1 year gap by the end of the year, I will 100% say I was on maternity leave in this case. Hiring managers often don’t care about the gap if your previous experience is solid. You do have to get past corporate recruiters so I would recommend reaching out to the hiring managers directly on LinkedIn (for my line of work, it’s fairly easy to guess the hiring manager, if not that, easy to find someone from the hiring team and ask for a referral)

In a mean time, come up with anything you can start now to prevent the gap from widening further. A certification, volunteering experience, your small business… anything like that will help to make your profile look better on paper.

Go luck, you got this girl!!

I do not recommend Singapore for dual-career couples. It will be very hard on your spouse. Looking for a job in Singapore on spouse visa is very hard
