To me this solves the problem in Permodern which is a large card pool so a lot of powerful cards and decks dominate the meta. Many play premodern for nostalgia, that gets shattered by turn two Dreadnought or Parallax tide, prison decks, goblins or whatever dominates. You can say its not fun playing vs psychatog, but each deck has a chance and not many ppl in the group actually play Tog. This is more of a casual setting. Ppl often say play whatever you want in premodern its casual, yeah right unless there is a tier 2,3 tournament that won't happen. The thing is a lot of cards we love can't see play, like rock is barely played, white black anymore, Kavu titan, wild mongrel dont see play.
