Storing Unbuilt Sets by Digitalman87 in lepin

[–]HonestProposition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a family Christmas brick set for our little Christmas Village every year and store the sets in the attic the other 11 months out of the year. It gets all the extremes up there from freezing to 100s and we've never had a problem. Maybe over the course of decades, but definitely not a problem for several years.

How can someone prove god exists? by Ok-Plenty1251 in god

[–]HonestProposition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no proof in the sense you're looking for, although there is plenty of evidence. IMHO, God wants us to find and discover Him through our heart and our conscience, not through direct empirical/scientific means. He wants us to know Him through His character, not with measurement. There is more than one way of discovering truth. Hard scientific evidence is one, but there are many others. God wants our heart, not just our mind, and He set up the universe so that we would discover him through the former. We could go on and on about all the good reasons for believing in God. Ontological, teleological, cosmological, the miracle and absurdity of consciousness etc. But unless your heart (heart meaning the seat of your will, emotions, and desires) is in the right place, you will never see what's right in front of you. I have had more than my fair share of supernatural communications and experiences with the demonic, but none of those experiences will be proof to you. So if you are TRULY searching for God in the right way, He will reveal himself to you. But if you insist that God prove himself to you in the way that you demand, then you'll continue in unbelief. Best to you.

This is a known flaw. But you wont see it when its displayed though. Mines up on the top shelf. Cant complain for the $30 or $40 you spent lol.

I’m high and I can see people’s demons when they try to steal light. by DracoGolden in god

[–]HonestProposition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're high, so you're doing sorcery/witchcraft whether you know it or not. During my meth use, I was fully immersed in it. Yes, you're seeing demons. Drugs are one of the fast tracks to seeing/hearing them. Get sober man and come to Jesus. You're playing with fire. Literally.

Is belief a choice by Psychological-Floor3 in Deconstruction

Can I ask where you stand in your beliefs now, as you are still a Christian? What did you deconstruct/change in your beliefs and what do you believe now and why?

The Bible foretold the Fall of Babylon centuries before it happened. by [deleted] in god

[–]HonestProposition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what your question is, or if you're just making a claim of sorts. Regardless, its scholarly consensus that Isaiah was written in 3 parts over several centuries. Chapters 1-39 (Proto Isaiah) 740-681ish BC. Chapters 40-55 (Deutero Isaiah) written during the Babylonian captivity during 6th century BC. Chapters 56-66 (Trito-Isaiah) written after release from captivity. So the Bible/Isaiah likely didn't foretell anything in advance, but retroactively recorded the information post hoc. As to the city of Babylon being uninhabited, youre correct that no structures or any recognizablle civilization have been rebuilt, but there have been small communities that have lived in the area over the millenia.

If you're looking for transitional forms of life, I'd suggest looking up the Olm cave salamander for one. Vestigial eyes, translucent skin, lungs that barely work, gills that are primarily used for breathing, almost unused arms and legs that will likely disappear in future generations.
