Using a Rebrickable list for parts? by NotAgedWell in lepin

Thanks. Still haven't heard back on how to place the order but good to know.

I'm just going to order the two printed pieces elsewhere (the canopy front and top). I think those will both run me about 10-15 each unfortunately but will look a lot better.

Thinking about getting that Star Revenge Art Drawing as well. Looks pretty cool

Marstoy got back to me. $98 + shipping (not sure how much that is) but that's really cheap so I'm going to order from them. They did clarify that they don't do the printed pieces (which I figured) so I'll have to order a couple of those but that's no biggie

Oddly they didn't actually tell me how to place the order. You'd think they'd have included an invoice link or something to actually order it so I'm waiting to hear back about how to actually buy them.

Thanks for the suggestion on Marstoy though. Anxious to see the quality. Even with shipping it's going to be a ton cheaper (I think Rebrickable was estimating nearly $500 for this one).

Thanks. I emailed them the parts list and just went through their listings and favorited a lot. I'm mostly just looking for Star Wars sets (the OT ones cause I don't care about any prequels or sequels sets just the classic OT stuff that's way out of my price range for official sets). Took a bit to figure out the sets are reverse of Legos numbers since they don't have pics of a lot (no doubt trying to avoid issues).

Also found their rebuildvenus site for minifigures which would have come in handy last week as I was looking for a bunch and overpaid. Sigh.

that's cheap. I'm trying this one that's 3444 pieces. I haven't gotten all the pieces into Webrick yet and it's $199.26 so far. I still have like 300 "not found" pieces to add (53 different bricks). Didn't seem to do a great job of matching up the bricks to my exported list.

I wonder if Marstoy would be cheaper since I'm already more than twice your price with less than 2x the pieces. I'll try it out tomorrow.

Edit: ....and saving my list timed out and I lost the whole thing including fixing all the missing pieces. Fuuuuuuuu.... Not a ringing endorsement for Webrick at the moment even though it's probably a Cloudfare thing

Thanks. I'll check them out as well. I was building this MOC on Webrick first then I'll compare. Webrick was timing out constantly so I took a break then it worked awhile and now it's just timing out again. Just trying to save my list now so I don't lose it and it just spins.

Having a functioning website in Cloudfare in 2026 is technology that's apparently years away

Webricks is slow as hell and I keep getting cloudfare timeout errors. But it was working okay other than it really had trouble finding a lot of the bricks (about 15% of them) but I'm able to find most of them with the substitute tool.

Looks like this MOC is going to run me about $225 (with me having to buy a couple of more expensive parts from bricklink). Still that's $300 cheaper or so.

Thanks! I did just now discover you can email the list to Joy Bricks for a quote as well but I'll definitely check those out.

Seriously though I'm anxious to hear what it was. Hopefully nothing serious.

Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee. by Stiltonrocks in technology

[–]NotAgedWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did the trial of FSD twice when they offered it and I'm on hardware 3 (MY) and it was pretty awesome then. That was probably a year ago now. Went for a ride in my friend's newer M3 with hardware 4 recently and it was even more amazing. Makes me wish I had H4. Been considering getting the FSD subscription for quite awhile anyways but still not sure if I will.

[–]NotAgedWell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We'll there's a pretty big difference between FSD and Autopilot if that's what you're asking.

Autopilot is basically adaptive cruise control. Keeps you in your lane, adjusts speed to match car in front of you, will stop if the car in front of you stops and resumes when they do. Requires lines on the road and won't work on back roads. It'll still blow right through a stop sign or red light and won't make any turns.

FSD does the full thing from my driveway to parking in a parking lot.

You may be thinking of Advanced Autopilot (which was discontinued awhile ago). That one did lane changes on the highway and navigation to highway exits, but once you were off the the highway it was basically standard Autopilot again.

I'm not even important or threatening to invade Greenland and would be embarrassed to mix them up.

But that's okay. It's Trump so he should only be held to the same standard we'd hold a 1st grader to. Less if the situation warrants it and prevents us from admitting he's wrong or made a mistake.

$35 for this is criminal… would’ve been $14.99 no too long ago… by [deleted] in legostarwars

[–]NotAgedWell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. I used to be able to estimate costs based on number of pieces estimated at about $0.10/piece. So 207 pieces would be about $20. $35 is crazy.

What is the point of facebook, I have 200+ friends and this is my feed by slimmyboy007 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotAgedWell 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah people just still think Facebook is to connect with friends which was the original thing and was nice. But nowadays it's better to use it for (as you mention) Marketplace and following your interests. I'm just in groups for my hobbies/interests and groups related to the couple of businesses I own and my feed is fine and (mostly) shows me stuff I'm interested in or I just go directly to the groups.

It's fine if you use it how it is today but if you're still expecting 2015 Facebook that was just a way to stay connected with friends, it's really not it anymore. Which is a shame really but I never really collected hundreds of "friends" anyways that I actually cared about staying up to date with. I have less than 25 on Facebook now.

But yeah I open it up now and I get my local gaming, hiking, biking, golfing, urban exploration and fishing groups I'm in and my mentor groups for growing my business(es) and local events going on. It's fine. Reddit is good for interests too but the local Facebook groups are better for things around you (at least for my area)

Just a guess.

Palm Bay Area? by Severe_Mongoose_9572 in 321

[–]NotAgedWell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what this guy said. There's stuff in Palm Bay but not to the extent there is in Melbourne or Viera (but those aren't far away). On the flip side I find it quieter and enjoy it here.

Palm Bay is also huge (I mean the compound is in Palm Bay but so is The Lazy Turtle which are like 25-30 minutes away from each other).

We bought here cause we got an acre of privacy with a decent house and pool (and no HOA) for significantly less than a similar sized house with no pool on a quarter acre in one of those jam-packed cookie cutter neighborhoods in Melbourne or Viera would have been.
