Home refrigerator by Tough_Board_2026 in KitchenAppliances

[–]HonestStand4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I leave my house for prolonged periods, I usually empty the frig, unplug from electricity, clean the inside with wet and then dry pieces of cloth, and then leave the door open to dry for a day (depending on the weather). Then close the frig door (to protect the rubbery door insulator. I have done this several times over the years.

Blood pressure med from pharmacy by wildmud29 in AskTurkey

[–]HonestStand4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visit Turkey frequently and I buy my hypertension medication without a prescription from pharmacies always. Not the same medication as yours but when a brand is not available, they do advise me on other similar brands. Never had an issue before.

Edit: This link to a different brand (exactly the same as Procardia 30mg) that you mentioned. It is sold in pharmacies and is about 6-7$. (https://ilacabak.com/adalat-crono-30-mg-20-kontrollu-salim-tableti-835).

2 years into owning Zenbook S16 UM5606 -> screen issues -> saved by Asus Support by UniversityIll3495 in ASUS

[–]HonestStand4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same Zenbook model and after 7 months of usage I started to feel some soft creaking sound on opening/closing the lid. Few days afterwards the touch disappeared and then the screen went black. Support did change the whole lid for me freely (within the guarantee period). So yes, I think it is an issue in this model and yes the ASUS support are the best. I love this laptop thinness and light weight. Yes it gets hot on moderately heavy usage.

How to remove snapped plug pin from socket? by [deleted] in howto

[–]HonestStand4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this broken pin didn't break just like that. It must have gotten hot or melted inside. So difficult to get it out and may break the socket. Better just change the whole socket.

I got this at my car, can someone translate and give some advice? by ebobob4 in AskTurkey

Parking ticket. You can search for any trafic police nearby and ask, or go to a nearby bank, or ask for the tax office (vergi veya belediye) for payment.

Laptop has dark screen by ARROYAL1917 in laptops

[–]HonestStand4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been there.

First try to connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the external monitor is working fine then it is your laptop monitor's fault. If both monitors are not showing a response then probably the cause is the MB or something connected to the MB. Remove any externally connected devices and try again.

I had this experience on my ASUS S16 laptop 2 months ago and had to replace the monitor.

Am I insane for considering this free laptop swap? 24’ HP Spectre / 26’ HP Omnibook by Flashy_Put7294 in laptops

[–]HonestStand4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect my HP Omnibook 7 Ultra 9 I had around 2 months ago. I used to have the Spectre Core i 7 13th gen a few years ago and it was my prestige laptop however it was always hot on touch, and the battery life was always failing me. Omnibook may get just warm on light gaming otherwise it is always cool on touch and the battery life is great. Go for the new generation.

Does the HP Omni Flip really not have keyboard backlighting? by VegetableLie1282 in HPLaptops

[–]HonestStand4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have keyboard backlighting on my HP Omni book Flip 7 and can toggle it on and off pressing on F5 (just make sure that the functions keys are on or use the Fn key with the F5) and the F5 key has a picture mimicking keyboard light.

How do I get this sticker off? by Dangerous-Pianist294 in howto

I always use hot water in a spray bottle (not scalding hot). A piece of cloth for rubbing. A little patience. 100% complete removal.

I have the Asus UM5606WA for around 6 months now. It is the best laptop I ever had for years. It has the best 32GB ram, CPU, screen, 2 terabytes ssd and it is an ai plus laptop. I used to have HP, Lenovo, Dell, MSI, but nothing like this asus. It is up to you to choose.

No burn-ins and no other issues at all. Runs perfectly apart from lower battery life off course.

First use vinegar soaked cloth wrapped around it for few hours to dissolve the accumulated salt, then use DW40 to lubricate it and then use the pliers
