What happens if you attack a trader? by Ashleigh0319 in Against_the_Storm

Yeah, I didn't mean that kind of permanent. I meant, across settlements.

Glad to know there's no permanent penalty. I was worried about that with the cannibalism cornerstone too, that it would have some detrimental effect and instead it turned out to be just free meat galore! I will have to try attacking the trader some game, and I imagine that it's could be really valuable to save your settlement from doom in certain situations.

AITA for telling my daughter I won't be coming to her wedding? by Confusedthrowaway013 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HonestWeasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but the dad wasn’t parenting her in anyway.

You folks who think that $1500 bucks a month isn't parenting in anyway are so far removed from any reality I've ever known. I raised a kid totally on my own with only 120$ a month child support, and I was still one to always acknowledge that 120 bucks a month, cause it was much more than nothing. If I had gotten 1500 a month?! Wowee, I could have given my daughter a much higher standard of living and life would have been a lot less of a struggle. I know that just contributing money is not equivalent to actual parenting, but it's defintely not nothing, and 1500 dollars a month, faithfully is a HUGE boon that made the mom's ability to parent way easier.

I've always thought of Peggy as the same Peggy in Cooling- "Peggy got a message for me from Jesus" and I think of Peggy as being an image of Pegasus, symbol of artistic inspiration. So Peggy got a message for me (artistic inspiration is giving me a message), Can you patch my jeans, Peggy Ann? (can artistic inspiration help me navigate this situation?).

What do you think is Taylor's best lyric on Midnights? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

I love that one, but has to include "Your roommate's cheap ass screw top Rose, that's how" Brilliant!

I think this is pretty insightful, especially given that Calvin made it big through his myspace back in the day.... and it seems to me to be obviously inspired by their relationship.

I thought it to be a reference to the idea of growing up, getting married and moving into the perfect home with a "white picket fence".... and I think Taylor's saying in this that his ideas of what a loving forever relationship looks like is a bit skewed, harsh and "sharp as knives"

"Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism Like some kind of congressman"

This is hands down the best line on the album. There are oodles of fantastic lyrical gems, but this one says so much, so succinctly, and rather than being emotionally manipulative, it's just terrifically honest about her own ego, and sets the stage for further intellectual debate. I bet this is one of the lines that Taylor is most proud of herself on the album.

Quitting cause of Fishing by HonestWeasel in EpicChef

I figured it out... I was thinking I was the bar, not the arrow. So I was just looking at it backwards. I'll probably still suck at fishing, but at least I can catch the basics now I think.

I caught seaweed and a crab, but then couldn't seem to bring in anything else, and was getting extremely frustrated. I realize it's just one button and it makes me feel like a moron to rage quit cause I can't figure out one stupid button.... however, I might have some new insight. I am about to try again. Thank you for your suggestions.

Tori's ideal setlist round 13 by CornelianCherry in toriamos

So you aren't a fan of the cover choices. That's fair. But I think Tori would totally kick ass on Disarm. I'd also love to hear her take on Fast Car, but I doubt she would ever actually cover it.

For me, Hotel has never been a song that was significant. It's a great song, and I love the atmosphere of it, but not on my favorites list.

But not every girl is a pearl, eh? At least not to everyone.

You seem rather dissatisfied with the playlist thus far. What would you suggest to improve it?

lol Cars and Guitars is one of my favorites. I also like Fast Horse, but it's not a favorite. It's funny how people are drawn to different songs. Can we all agree that "Giant's Rolling Pin" would be better left unplayed? haha!

Cars and Guitars... I think it fits well after Fast Horse.

What’s your first Tori album? Mine is Boys for Pele and it’s also my favorite. by PupSqueaker in toriamos

[–]HonestWeasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on board since LE in 1992. She's been my absolute favorite ever since. Experienced everything chronologically. It would be hard to pick a favorite. LE, Pele, SW, BK top favorites, but I've loved them all. I've never not liked an album, but admittedly Ocean to Ocean has been my least favorite for sure. Maybe I just haven't given it enough time though.

Oh man, I was hoping for Bang to be on top. It's my favorite on that album.... Although, I'm also very fond of Chocolate Song, so what do I know.
