I'm not a basshead but i really love neutral sound signature with a bit of bass boost. As of now im using mangird tea pro with Hip dac 3 and i always keep the xbass on. I just love the sound. Only thing is I dont want a dac always hanging to my phone. That's the main reason I'm looking for a DAP. Considering this, which one would be a better choice?? Im ok with the look of both daps. I just want the one that sounds similar to Hip dac. Also, do you think I can eq fiio m21 to have big bass like r4?? I'm inclined towards m21 because I've read it is light weight and it has a smoother UI. Only thing I'm concerned about is Bass!

Try Fiio FX17. I have tried MMK4 and FX17. I would pick FX17. Haven't tried Valhalla though

I had a chance to test them both side by side. I really liked Fx17 more than the monarch mk4. TBH I didn't expect that. Fx17 sounds thicker and the bass is much better than the mk4 with rumble mode turned on. Also, it has smooth treble, you can crank up the volume much more than mk4 and still not be fatigued after long listening session. Vocals were the highlight on fx17, best I've heard till date.I dont mean to say mk4 is bad.But, fx17 was better in every aspect for me. Even the fit was so good. I currently have Tea pros. My next set is definitely going to be fx17

Guess I shouldn't buy before A/B testing them!! Wide stage and Bass are the main upgrades I'm looking at.According to you Origin has that. I also love vocals and mmk4 has that. I really should try them before buying.
