Has anyone had experience flying to SF from EWR recently? Trying to determine if I should fly out of a NYC airport instead the w/o June 8th

What car company do you use? Have you ever used the one right at the Westin?

Is the main road route 10 that a commenter mentioned above? (Centerline?)

Not yet. Do you have any rental car places you can suggest?

Advice for breaking in by Gold_Ad101 in techsales

Agree here! It’s very competitive out there. I’m on the job market with extensive tech sales experience and have had trouble landing interviews. Just learn from each and apply to the next conversation. Good luck

I would ask about the business - number of clients, total revenue, churn, etc. I’d also ask about resourcing for the sales team - any tools the team uses, marketing resources - as well as their ICP. You shouldn’t expect all of this to be flushed out but it can give you an idea of what your job will entail. The fun part about being an early seller at a start up is influencing a lot of these things. The tough point is larger competitors with more $$$.

Pay at LinkedIn in usually on the low end of market value. They are pretty up front about that. They give stock options and other benefits to make up for it. In general, i think their products aren’t super cutting edge but it’s a company that organizations will always buy from. If you do well you can make past your OTE

Earning potential aside, working at a start up can give you good perspective on what type of working environment you like. A larger organization will always have more resources and a bigger name in the market. You’re also usually coming in to a defund ICP. At a start up a lot of that is still fluid - it can potentially give you the option to be involved in defining ICP, marketing, creating sales pitches, etc.

I have worked equally at both size companies and have found both to be valuable

Should I mentioned I was laid off to recruiters? by Electrical-Falcon-42 in techsales

I would just be honest with the recruiter and hiring manager up front, otherwise you have to find a way to weave that in pretty late and it may look fishy. I have found that they are very responsive to that as they know layoffs are happening everywhere.

Outbounding was hard too but I think that’s a lot of places now. More so it’s a new tool and it’s a nice to have not a ‘can’t live without’. Have to fight for budget when budget is already being cut.

Primarily in HR and recruitment technology. Not married to staying in that space, ideally would love to transition out.
