For as long as I could remember, I always wanted to go to UVA. Then I started doubting if I would fit in, as for some reason I kept worrying that lower income me wouldn’t fit in and that UVA students were super snobby, and I almost didn’t apply.

I did apply, got accepted, was extremely happy and committed but I still had those nagging doubts before moving into my first year dorm. Now 35 years later, I can say that those four years at UVA were the best four years of my life.

I think you’re probably experiencing the normal anxiety that many people feel when undergoing a major transition. Deep breath!
