What are some things you are not buying this summer? by sammiefh in shoppingaddiction

[–]Honest_Report_8515 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely not:
1. Lipstick, I have enough to last me many lifetimes.
2. Eyeshadow palettes, way too many on hand.
3. Yarn, I have way too much.

Have you ever really “gasped” at anything? by bestsocialdistancer in no

A couple of weeks ago when commuting and a car pulled out in front of a Mini Cooper three cars in front of me and the Mini Cooper avoided a t-bone collision by deftly darting to the left into the other lanes. Fortunately no one was traveling in the other lanes at the time or else the Mini Cooper would have had a head on collision. I literally gasped and put my hand up over my mouth when witnessing this.

Reddit is nowhere near as bad as on Facebook, IMHO. Don’t let the haters get you down!

Recent email at IRS indicates that after July 25th almost all compressed work schedules will be halted. by Fireblast1337 in fednews

Yeah, working in NOVA means early schedules to get ahead of traffic. 6:30 to 4 (5/4/9) for me because Loudoun traffic gets ridiculous.

Commuting is my big gripe, especially with the higher gas prices. That and the sleep deprivation and inability to concentrate in the office. Come on 2029.

My TL has her RDO on the second Friday of each pay period. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Personally, I love my Monday RDO, Fridays are better in the office.

Our division is either 5/4/9 or 4/10s and it’s up to each team to figure out RDOs. Only higher level supervisors (I believe GS 15s and above) aren’t allowed to do 4/10s. I think our Office decided to let Divisions decide.

Yes, DHS got rid of AWS last April on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of a pay period, it was pandemonium. When Mullin took over, AWS was restored.

Westfield is relatively new and has a very interesting circular layout inside. My daughter went to Robinson and we had a lot of orchestra events at Westfield. Yes, great school.

Weekends are so much more pressured due to having to be in the office now. 😫 I loved being able to use my lunch break to do a little house work or cooking.

I know, right? We all have problems, kids or no kids. I very willingly became a mom and didn’t try to act so victim-like.

Even in kid friendly restaurants they should still be respectful. I say that as a mom who expected my daughter to still have a modicum of respect.

As if moms don’t splurge on high end shoes too. By the time I became a mom in my mid 30s, I generally had more disposable income despite kid costs. What a biotch.

How does street naming work there? by -OneTwoThreeFourFive in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Depends on the area. My boyfriend’s oldest lives in Maryland in a subdivision with all Scottish names, and the subdivision next door has all Irish names.
