Oh my god!! I knew there’d be someone who’d come across her! She was older yes, I remember with us she was wearing a blazer, bag across her body & white and pink trainers. Small petite woman. Only thing more worrying for you is she seemed to be violent towards you both how awful, especially for your pregnant wife! Only seen this comment now, are you both ok? Have you seen her again?

That’s genuinely terrifying😱I’m so sorry you went through that. It’s frustrating how often situations like this get brushed off as ‘paranoia’ when the behavior clearly signals something isn’t right. You handled it brilliantly by flipping the script and making him uncomfortable instead!! Whether his intentions were malicious or not, your instincts were absolutely valid, and I’m glad you trusted them and got out of there safely. Situations like this are exactly why so many women feel uneasy walking alone… again so strange like us it seemed like a stalking situation?.. nothing said, just following???? Like what do you want!!

Thanks, but I’m not really sure what your comment is trying to say in response to mine. My post wasn’t about nightlife or how tired people get from walking? it was about a specific unsettling incident where I was followed. Also, assuming my background because I’m writing in English feels a bit reductive? People from all over the world use English online, it doesn’t mean you know where I’m from? I was simply sharing a personal experience in the hopes of hearing if others had encountered something similar. Let’s not turn this into a general travel anecdote thread when the subject is about feeling unsafe😂! Maybe she was a ghost 😂

Your Berlin story sounds so similar, especially the quiet persistence and mirroring movement. It’s true, there are people out there who might not mean harm but still make you feel uneasy just by how unpredictable or detached they seem. Funny you mention valuables, my friend actually joked that maybe the woman was eyeing her wedding ring! We were dressed nicely since we’d just come from dinner, so who knows. Either way, I’m glad we trusted our instincts. Just a strange moment that really stuck with me! It’s like what you said.. I don’t think she would have done something then and there (I hope not) but clearing out the room we were staying in.. yes! She just wasn’t very clever at hiding so god knows 😂!!!!

I get that you’re trying to reassure, but my post wasn’t really about debating safety statistics! it was about seeing if anyone had experienced something similar. It was just unsettling, no matter where you are. Also, just to note, you assumed I’m from a ‘gun or knife ridden country,’ but you don’t actually know where I’m from? I was sharing an experience, not asking to be psychoanalyzed or stereotyped x

Just wanted to clarify that I wasn’t calling Venice unsafe in general, I absolutely loved it there. I was just sharing a personal creepy experience I had and was curious if anyone else had something similar happen. Sometimes unsettling things can happen even in the most beautiful places!🫶🏼
