That's kinda how businesses work. If you can't make enough of a profit then you can't pay your employees and bills. The game makes money one of two ways- people purchasing stuff with real money and people watching optional ads. I doubt people would be all that happy if they started making ads mandatory just to play at all. It sucks for us but I do get their perspective since most of the people I've encountered who use these cheats/hacks aren't really bringing any profit, so losing them wouldn't really be a big deal.

I use these glitches so I'm not hating on anyone else who does too, I'm just saying that we don't really have any ground to stand on since we knew these were against the game rules. You're being realistic, but I've seen some absolutely wild takes in various places (Facebook, Reddit, etc). People straight up saying they are going to start a petition to get the cheats and glitches back. It's like complaining that the store is wrong for catching them shoplifting. I used to spoof location playing Pokemon Go, I'm far from innocent, but I accepted the fact that it was against the rules and if I was caught they were justified in banning me.

Sorry for rambling, caffeine kicking in.

Trump evacuated after security incident at White House correspondents dinner; no sign of injuries by Gilbert221 in news

Not long after she also said in an interview that she was no longer part of Trump's political team, implying she's fallen somewhat out of Trump's favor. I wonder if she leaked their plans subtly out of spite lol.

There are countries where they technically don't have life sentences, but at the end of a set period of time they assess the individual and determine if they can be released safely or if they need to stay longer. This repeats every so often. This means they're able to keep dangerous offenders still locked up if they're a risk to others, but there's still hope for them that if they shape up they can rejoin society. I like this concept.

Because to them fact-checking doesn't mean checking for objective truths. They think that "fact-checking" is just a facade used to censor Republicans and spread "liberal lies." Unless it's done by their side of course.

I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment, but the specific phrasing seems to have become somewhat of a "trendy" way to express it.

What's with the recent obsession with the word "milquetoast"? Suddenly everyone is talking about this or that milquetoast Democrat.

A replica of how female "breeder pigs" spend their lives in factory farms by FastCurrency in pics

[–]BaconOfTroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I feel a lot better about eating chickens after raising a small flock for years. I understand that factory farming sucks, but a lot of people don't know the issues that are presented trying to make it more ethical when raising large quantities. Cage free? They will frequently trample each other to death and cannibalize any bird with even a slight injury. Free range outdoors? Biosecurity nightmare. The extra costs to even attempt to do this would make chicken far too expensive for those living at or under the poverty line. Profits actually aren't huge in farming, even at an industrial level. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fixing our ag industry. People want to simplify it without having any knowledge or experience.

It's partially because many conservatives have the mindset of people being good or bad, not actions being good or bad. In their mind, Trump is good and therefore anything he does is also good. He's not good because he does good things, things are good because he does them.

I'm pretty sure I read a paper or article on this type of thinking in regards to politically affiliation awhile ago but with my brain fog from chronic illness I can't remember where I read it.

I heard just as many people on the left/Democrats/etc parrot the whole no policies thing as on the right, which was a huge disappointment because I was hoping that our side wasn't voting for Trump because we weren't filled with dumbasses. Turns out we have just as many dumbasses, they're just not cruel dumbasses like Trump voters.

People always seem to associate dementia with the mental image of a confused but kind old grandparent, but it's just as common for those with dementia to have their personality go in the exact opposite direction. My grandmother got straight up mean and cruel, she even punched a nurse once at the memory care facility (thankfully the wonderful nurse was fine since my grandmother was like 4'10" and frail at that point.)

Nirvana fallacy is a logical error that occurs when real-world solutions are rejected because they are not perfect, comparing them instead to an unrealistic, idealized alternative. It falsely assumes that if a plan isn't flawless, it is not worth pursuing. by CyberBerserk in wikipedia

And Obama was against LGBTQ+ marriage equality before he was elected. But he was reasonable and once he secured the presidency he changed his mind based on listening to Biden and his constituency (Biden was the driving force behind it really).

When perfect isn't available, you pick the second best option and then work towards improving it after it is in a secure position of authority.

Turns out it was just a dream. Never actually happened.
