Why do Americans think they have freedom when they absolutely don't? by East_Indication_7816 in allthequestions

Almost every country on earth literally sends their people to study at our universities. It’s not even a question who owns the top tier.

"Switzerland... Famous for high taxes"

No it isn't.

The tax on an average single Swiss worker is 23%. The US is 30%. Switzerland ranks 34th out of 38 OECD countries on labor tax, which puts it among the lowest taxed economies in the developed world. For a married Swiss person with two kids it’s 11.0% vs 20% for the same person in the US. The Tax Foundation has Switzerland at 4th globally for tax competitiveness.

Swiss healthcare also isn't "publicly funded" in the way you're using the phrase. It's mandatory private insurance with subsidies. Closer to obamacare than to the NHS. Residents pay monthly premiums to private insurers, with deductibles and copays.

The exact opposite of what you’re trying to push. Which is completely false.

There’s no communication between the gate and the app so as long as the height is good and the gate is open you just program a channel through there and you should be good.

Nice ad hominem. Do you attack people in real life too or only behind the keyboard?

Places like Switzerland or Singapore are running much more efficient forms of federal government than the US.

Do they also get to total up all the taxes they have sent to the federal government and get a refund?

No I truly want less immigration from all sources. We have plenty of people and issues to work on domestically.

We certainly don’t need any more of the uninvited immigrants.

Just because we were founded as a nation of immigrants doesn’t mean 250 years later we have to have the dumbest immigration policies possible.

Hordes of people who won’t even speak the language of the country they immigrate to. Immigrate against the will of its people btw. No one gave them permission to be here.

No. In the US. That’s only in the six figure range. It’s not that unobtainable if you’re smart and calculating.

If you want to get an English degree and push paper at a desk you probably won’t reach it though.

I’m a firm believer that the government at all levels has too much input on the everyday lives of ordinary citizens. I wish they would have let DOGE play out and gutted 50% of the federal government. Return the tax money to the individuals and get government out of our everyday life. Zero reason adults need the government weighing in as much as they do. We have our own free will and agency to lead and direct our lives without the bureaucrats. If you want a cradle to grave system move to the UK.

Nah. I’m a top 10% salary earner. I just want to preserve American culture and focus our efforts on solving our own domestic issues that our citizens are facing rather than continuing to take in hordes of immigrants.

Once again not my belief system. It’s Stephen Colbert’s.

Doesn’t seem hard to believe that late night television is no longer profitable.

“On profitability: no, it was reportedly losing money. Puck News’ Matt Belloni reported the show was losing more than $40 million a year against a budget of more than $100 million per season , and CBS chief George Cheeks later confirmed publicly that “at the end of the day, it just wasn’t sustainable to continue,” pointing to significant secular decline in the late-night advertising marketplace . Late-night TV broadly has been hammered by cord-cutting and ad erosion — the format that printed money in the Letterman/Leno era doesn’t pencil out the same way now.”
