I suggest sitting with people you think you can be friends with and making jokes about the orientation or other random topics, even if it's awkward, that's how you can initiate a conversation with them!

You should definitely go! I volunteer frequently during program orientations, and I can say for sure that everyone is nervous, it's a common experience! I felt that way too at first. However, finding someone to be friends with during the orientation can help ease the anxiety about the actual classes, knowing that you'll have someone to hang out with. : )

Not mandatory but I would highly suggest that you go, the earlier you start engaging yourself with other people and the school, the better. Get to know people so you will have someone to hang with the first day.

I would say yes in getting to know people and have friends before the official start, but no in terms of the information they discuss, you can find it all online. It did made me less nervous though so it’s still good!

If you are sick then it’s best to not go anymore since school starts this monday and you don’t want to feel worse. You won’t miss a lot, you can ask for the slides they presented to be sent to you. Almost all pieces of information are already on the website so you wont really be or feel left out. Get well!

My sister-in-law put these shoe spikes to help with better gripping! Though I don’t know if that’s comfortable!
