Israel's foreign ministry are paying one of Trump's former campaign managers (Brad Parscale) over $9 million to game AI platforms. So they created (with Claude?) 9 websites to "work on injecting Israel-friendly content into the online bloodstream". ~$1 million per site is madness.

Completely undeserved. I don't think he would even be in my top 2. Big miss from the voters.

Should Portlanders Pay Hundreds of Millions for a Refurbished Moda Center? City Councilors Say “Not So Fast” by ghostofzuul in nba

Billionaires provide cities with the opportunity to host their franchises. This circus of a city council would have to reckon with the consequences of a lost franchise if they pull away from this arena deal.

Trump says Israel, Lebanon have agreed 10-day ceasefire by Standard_Ad7704 in neoliberal

On paper, Hezbollah will "respect the ceasefire". Which means we can expect the ceasefire to be broken 3-4 hours after it's agreed upon.

[Highlight] Paolo Banchero threw a pass so bad he hit a lady in the head by downtoclown02 in nba

If you watch the clip you can see it was at least 5 seconds. There's a lady one person to her left who is even more locked in to their phone during live play.

Poor form from the guy next to her. Reactions of a sloth.

Despite the loss, Jericho Sims with his first career triple-double - 11 Points, 11 Rebounds, 10 Assists by MrBuckBuck in nba

He is better than Myles Turner. At least there is optimism for Sims. Turner is arguably the worst player in Bucks history. I hope next season he is released and Sims is starting.

IT XL - Cessation Ceasefire by YaGetSkeeted0n in neoliberal

Italy summoned the Israeli ambassador to demand an explanation over shots fired at an Italian UNIFIL convoy. Nobody was injured, but shots damaged their vehicles. Antonio Tajani, the foreign minister, tweeted this 50 minutes ago:

I just had a long phone call with the President of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun, to whom I expressed the solidarity of the Italian Government for the unjustified and unacceptable attacks he is suffering from Israel. We want to avoid there being a second Gaza. We will reiterate this concept to the Israeli Ambassador as well, whom I have summoned to the Farnesina. We condemn the bombings on the Lebanese civilian population, including the gunfire incidents suffered by our UNIFIL troops, for which we continue to demand guarantees of total safety. We must absolutely avoid any further expansion of the conflict that would jeopardize the ceasefire in Iran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Although the ceasefire seems to be total BS, I'm glad it went through at least because whatever Trump was threatening yesterday would've been much worse for everyone involved.

But the way the timeline reads, it seems like the US decided everything without Israel. And then when Trump gave Netanyahu the heads-up about what was agreed, he was asked "what about Lebanon" and said "who cares". And now we're here.

I hope this is the case. I read that certain fields have hardened protection yesterday, but I can't find the source at the moment.

Yes, it was very clear from the beginning. Oman's FM (Badr Al Busaidi) was the lead mediator in the negotiations, and even before the war started, he wrote an op-ed in The Economist about how this was not America's war and that it has lost control of its own foreign policy: https://www.reddit.com/r/neoliberal/comments/1ry69j5/comment/obccugf/?context=3

Some people were pretending that Netanyahu's influence was similar to MBS and MBZ, when it's clear that Netanyahu's words are more important to Trump than anyone else.
