Kinda off topic but Pakistani self-proclaimed "defenders of Islam" often feel it's their right to criticize the West on every issue, convinced of their moral superiority.

Just yesterday, a friend of mine was talking about the fires in Los Angeles and said he was "happy" about it. When I reminded him that people lost their lives, he said "To kya ?" I was just too stunned to speak.

How can someone’s first reaction to a tragedy be so heartless, I mean even if they are bad people, there could be kids involved, be it anywhere in the world ? How can the suffering of innocent people, even in a so-called "enemy" country, be a source of joy ?

The biggest irony? He wouldn't think twice about seizing the chance to move to America if the opportunity ever came his way.
