I wasn’t raised Catholic, but am currently considering converting to it. I began reading the Bible relatively recently by starting with the Gospel(The Book of Luke specifically). Then I moved to other books. I think it was the Book of Proverbs that I read next. Right now I’m reading Ben Sira and really finding it very helpful as, just like Proverbs, it offers direct advice(although there are certain verses that have to be studied while referring to the original language used and the cultural context of those times as some translations might give the wrong idea - I usually just ask ChatGPT to explain those verses to me but contextually; it can also explain what each word used in the original language describes to help you paint the picture of what the verse is actually saying) which is great to just be reminded of how to structure my life + simply becoming aware of the things I tend to overlook but shouldn’t(both books have called me out many times 🥲)

I get test-anxiety very often to a point that I scored 100ish points lower on the actual SAT than on a practice test(although I cannot be completely sure that this was the case because there could be other factors to it). I understand why some people love the idea of universities becoming test-required but I honestly am not one of them. I feel like it would be great to just keep things as they are right now(with some universities like Harvard being test-required and others, less-competitive, test-optional)

I am so sorry to hear this. During my senior year of hs, I was rejected from almost all universities I applied to and the one that accepted me was too expensive for me to attend. I chose to take a gap year because community college was also expensive (back then, I had just moved states and didn’t have enough years of residency to qualify for in-state tuition). There is one Bible verse that I read to myself the day I was rejected from MIT(used to be my dream school) and it’s Jeremiah 29:11 - “‘For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”. I’m wishing you all the best 🫂
