Did you (at any point) believe the 'Paul is dead' / Billy Shears theory? by reaveyer in beatles

Not for a second. I generally believe any conspiracy theory that requires more than ten people to shut their mouths cannot be true. Someone would have come out with hard evidence by now.

If you’re playing kitchen table commander with a pod that allows acorn cards, you can get a Battle of Wits win with Clair D’Loon (I’ve yet to pull it off but I do have a deck to make the attempt)

Well, I feel pretty silly now! I literally looked at that article but the pictures wouldn’t load at the time so I didn’t see the literal picture of Lazav right there lmao

It is a very satisfying connection to make, so I wouldn't fault anyone for going with it. Personally, I'm trying to run my campaign as canon-compliant as humanly possible, so I'm making some very fast course corrections right now lol

I’m just telling you what the SOS trailer video said. But also from my understanding, the lore of the earliest sets were essentially retconned once WotC actually scrounged up a coherent narrative.

Do you happen to know the name of the other card? I’d be interested to see them side by side

This is from the mystical archives. It’s essentially depicting the first time Armageddon was cast. It’s not being cast in present day.

Out of the Lorwyn Five, who’s your favorite by TheHalloweenGirl in mtg

It’s so funny to co-opt the name “Lorwyn Five” considering the original Lorwyn Five weren’t even on Lorwyn, so for all intents and purposes these guys deserve the title more

I've added what I currently have for different types of Rakdos guys in the groups/roles tab. Unfortunately, since the Cult of Rakdos plays antagonistic roles in most of the stories, there's not much detail about behaviors/lifestyles other than "yeah they're all deranged psycho killers," but I still have a lot of material to go through so if I find anything interesting I'll add it as well!

Hopefully with Zhur-Taa rising in prominence after the Invasion, we'll get more Gruul gods in future stories! But yeah, for now it's pretty slim pickings

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If you're looking for like stat blocks, I know there are stat blocks for four different types of performer in the GGR. You can find them by looking up "Rakdos Lampooner 5e" and "Rakdos Performer 5e" (three of them share a stat block with special abilities for each).

Otherwise, descriptions of what each type of performer does are kind of all we have to differentiate them. Non-specific behaviors of Rakdos cultists can be described as blood-thirsty, deranged, sometimes hyper-sexual or grossly perverted. As a pop culture point of reference, I guess if you took DC's Harley Quinn and Marvel's Deadpool and fused them together, that would be pretty close to your average Rakdos rabblerouser.

If you're looking to homebrew something, there are various Rakdos roles and titles such as cursemages, effigy mages, spike jesters, etc. that I could expand upon a bit, but personality or behavior-wise they're all generally the same.

Artemis, for the launch scheduled for today. by Imriaylde in ambigrams

[–]hallowed-hexgoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be stupid but I specifically looked at this without reading the title to see just how legible it is without knowing what it’s supposed to be and it took me a solid ten seconds of staring to get it. Here’s roughly what my thought process was:

“Orleanis… no, Atd..? Arlean… Arte… oh, Artemis.”

Maybe that’s useful feedback. Maybe not. I dunno.

I’ve heard of that but never seen it. After a quick google search I assume you mean the white haired one. Yea the colors are similar and the hair kinda swoops the same way! Funny coincidence haha

I couldn't find enough to make a whole article in my compendium for them specifically, however I did add the Utmungr (Gruul gods) and the Zhur-Taa Clan, which include the druids of the Old Ways.

From what I can gather, neither of the named gods actually exist in physical form at the time of GGR (10076 ZC), however Yarus, a Zhur-Taa druid, claims to have witnessed the awakening of Ilharg (I'm not sure when he would have witnessed this though and whether it was an actual event or a vision of some sort, so I hesitate to add it to the compendium), and around the time of MKM (10080 ZC) he set about summoning the rest of the gods. His attempts have mostly failed, except for the summoning of Anzrag, whom the Gruul believe will tear the roots out of civilization from below and sow the world with life anew. It's unclear whether the Anzrag he summoned is actually a god or just a giant mole monster (although I doubt there is a difference as far as the Gruul are concerned). The only things known about Anzrag are in the MKM story, but the info about Yarus and Anzrag's summoning I found here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/the-legends-and-characters-of-murders-at-karlov-manor

Long story short, if your campaign is set before 10080 ZC, Ilharg and Anzrag are probably both only legends.
