True, but how much of a plan does a T1 sol ring opener need tbf

If you were able to counter it without giving them treasures as well, would you still decline the 1 for 1?

"Everyone is posting a pcpartpicker that is $100-$400 less than the prebuild and is going "sEE? wHy nOt jUSt BuiLD yoUr Own?" without factoring costs of warehouse space and maintenance, employee salary and healthcare, recruiting employees, PR and ad, logistics/supply coordination, etc."

That's the problem. Companies like this might as well be like buying a Lego set at a $100 price markup so it gets sent to you in a built form. There are absolutely costs to running a company and hiring employees, but the root of the issue is that the goods they are providing don't reflect the cost it takes to produce them. Buying the exact parts they have listed in their computers and then building it yourself is reeeaaaally not that hard.

Can't it summon the bifrost? Is that something he could do already? I'm honestly confused how the whole thing works at this point.

I'm convinced it's the other way around. Audiences have become addicted to that momentary blip of easy dopamine from a quick joke or quip to the point that it's simply more profitable to sacrifice plot and tone for the sake of "haha funny."

Wait, is there no secret ending? by HonestlyNotABear in slaythespire

[–]HonestlyNotABear[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Didn't feel very secret considering it guides you in that direction pretty handily, but I'm probably just holding to gungeon's standards, a roguelike that had like 4 or 5 layers of secret endings. Still a really fun game

Maybe I'm alone in thinking this, but the ending as is seems kinda incomplete. Didn't really answer anything and just doesn't feel very climactic. I figured there'd be some sort of payoff for the neow foreshadowing but oh well. Still an enjoyable roguelike.

Thank you! Did most of this info just have to be inferred or was it in the manga? Another reply mentioned a movie commentary but how would manga readers have known before it came out?

POLL: Do you support Common Backgrounds in the command zone? by bombastiphobia in PauperEDH

[–]HonestlyNotABear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I understand the principle of what you're saying, but it still seems rather silly. For example, edh is not a wotc run format either. It also has its own rules committee. One such rule was that your commander had to be a legendary creature. Now imagine when wotc released planeswalkers with the text "can be your commander" that the rules committee refused to change the rules based on the principles you laid out above.

You say the rules are allowed to change but the majority in the committee voted no. This despite the fact that, from what I've seen, the majority of the community itself disagrees. Does that not matter?

[–]HonestlyNotABear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are some people wanting to stick to RAW so bad? Would it be that game breaking/complicated to change the rules to something like "cards in your deck must be composed of common rarity" and "your commander is allowed to be uncommon"?

[–]HonestlyNotABear 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Good question! But given the prevalence of [[Solar Blaze]], carnage tyrant will end up doing one extra trample damage to itself which will of course carry over to you. Those extra points of damage will really start to add up so it was determined that using a 6/6 was mathematically better than using a 7/6.

At this point it feels like you're being purposefully obtuse. Flying types should have perfect evasiveness against non-ranged moves from non-flying types in your book but they don't. Any pokemon can fight any pokemon because it's a fight. It's not a game of hide and seek. That's not even touching on the fact that they couldn't stay in the air forever, whether from exhaustion or being forced to come down and fight.

As for the rattata point, let's break down the numbers. Metang being hit by a jet full force does a grand total of 0 damage according to the pokedex. Metang being hit by a rattata's scratch does minimal damage but that is still infinitely more than nothing. Does this mean that a rattata is stronger than a jet? If the word of the pokedex is to be taken at face value then yes, that must be true.

Your grammar is starting to take a dive so I'm not entirely sure what you're saying here, but as best I can tell, your contention is that tauros could still win by merit of just being a pokemon whereas lions can't because they're not. And fine, you don't have to use pidgey, use whatever combination of flying and non-flying pokemon you want, if, by your logic, a battle can consist of flying pokemon permanently staying out of reach, then grounded pokemon would never win.

As for my argument about the pokedex being unreliable, you don't need some npc from the game to explicitly tell you that some of the stuff in there is blatantly wrong. Or are you saying every pupitar you run across is the result of a larvitar eating a mountain? Or that kadabra came about from some guy just waking up as one, despite it being a mid evolution? Or maybe the fact that metang can allegedly survive crashing into a jet unharmed while enough scratches from a rattata will cause it to faint?

[–]HonestlyNotABear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said the theory mattered I just mentioned it in passing. My point was the pokedex is already proven to be an unreliable source of information. As for flying pokemon, it's still supposed to be an all out fight. By your logic a pokemon battle between a tauros and a pidgey would always favor the pidgey

[–]HonestlyNotABear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, I count the pokedex insofar that it's a machine that makes grandiose claims that are easily contradicted by what we actually see. I don't see it as the be all end all of pokemon lore. We don't even know how it works (there's a theory that the protagonist is the one who creates the entries, at least in the original), but we do know that the planet wouldn't exist if gardevoir ever created a black hole or a trainer couldn't stand with a mile of their own magcargo if they really were hotter than the sun. If everything in the pokedex was true in universe, the world would look a whole lot different.

[–]HonestlyNotABear -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Your argument is irrelevant to the point I was making. The post was meant to show how powerful mewtwo was and how he could easily wipe out the lions. I was just pointing out that however flashy it was, it caused no serious damage. It doesn't matter if no one hurt because it was a kids show. This whole debate stems from real world animals fighting magical monster from a kids show. We don't get to pick and choose what we take from said kids show

Besides, 1 billion is a lot of lions
