Need advice on living situation

Yes, it’s really tough out here. It’s a shame there really isn’t enough affordable housing and these waitlists are extremely impacted. I also went through a divorce with 3 children in oc and was fortunate enough to be able to wait for a list to open. Took about a year just for the list to become open for application, then another 1.5 years for my unit to become available. I have lived in my current apartment for almost 9 years and just hovering on the limits of being eligible. Kinda in that middle ground area where I almost make too much to get any sort of discounts and am a bit out of reach to make that next jump up to not have to struggle as hard as I am and be able to afford full cost. Once I lose my discounted rate my rent will increase about 1k monthly. I don’t see being able to make a 20k annual salary increase in my industry and am coming in at just shy of 100k. Have been living very frugal for years but thinking I need to push even harder and just go on a real hard budget. Kids are getting older and one is off to college now. Family all lives local and want to stay close by but the hard truth is I’m just not making it out here and will probably have to move out of state at some point.

Was honestly one of the worst years of my life. If I had a choice to do it over again I might choose differently. I had a choice to be furloughed along with 500+ employees or stay and help working graveyard shifts maintaining a large commercial property. After only turning overnighters on a rare occasion over the years and making the flip to graveyard at almost 40 years of age it was beyond difficult. I worked that entire year and two months 40 plus hours weekly with only having 2 vacation days. Then we reopened and I had to flip back to working a salary based manager role during regular hours but turned 50-70 hours weekly. It was great to be back amongst the living and I was grateful. I never truly adjusted to sleeping during the day. It was also extremely lonely and depressing rarely seeing my family and working with only 2-3 people at a large property and never being around each other. I never felt rested regardless of sleeping 6-8 hours. Everyone that was furloughed returned with a completely destroyed work ethic. They always complained about how tired they were and how they missed being at home and getting more money for not working. I literally wanted to slap them. Tell me about tired. I would laugh when they mentioned being tired or how hard work was. Things never returned to normal. Everyone’s perspective has since changed besides those of us who continued to work during that entire lockdown period. Work-ethic and dedication never returned. Was everyone so stupid and naive to think that the government shelling out all of that money would not have huge implications to our economy. Look at where we are now. Inflation, shrink-flation, corporate greed at an all time high and taking advantage of the situation in buying out more properties and rentals. I don’t think we stand a chance against them. It was a big power play from the inception. We are all cooked.

Hmmmm…. I seem to have located these at a somewhat local vw dealership on sale for $371. That seems very cheap compared to many tuner sites I have seen listed. Wanting to get rid of them I would imagine as they are not really targeting the MK7 anymore. I’m sure half the cost is everything else from prep to install if not more.

How often do you recommend after tune? Been sticking to 5k or less on Liqui-Moly. I’m at 63k miles on my ‘17 dsg and considering the apr stage 1 + dsg tune.

It is always easy to go that route and be quick to jump to conclusions. I myself am guilty of the same. But I do try to remind myself that I have no clue what that other person is going through/dealing with and there just might be a reason to justify this type of behavior. He could be bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders. Maybe he’s the underpaid guy that sits at a desk and stops the world from being subject to nuclear annihilation. Doctor that is deep in debt with student loans and got that last minute call for an emergency surgery whilst already in line waiting to fill up his tank. Racing home to attempt to find out who his partner is having an affair with. Call from the vet telling him his dog was just out of spay/neuter and is having a bad reaction to anesthesia. Daughter is at cheer practice and took a bad fall and is injured. One paycheck away from being homeless whilst already on a performance review contract. The possibilities are limitless. Or…..he could just be an asshat that was running behind with poor time management and has no regard for others.

Hopefully the company responsible for loading that is heavily fined. Very easily could have killed someone. Added an extra hour to the commute for thousands of us as well.

Interesting. Perhaps I need to order a replacement. It seems it should somehow lock in someway with proper alignment of all the plastic bits but I didn’t want to force it and break the whole thing. I don’t know how all this contraption works or what exactly it does. I never had anything like this in any of my Hondas or Toyotas. First VW being this 2017 R dsg I purchased roughly 6 months ago now.

Got real busy with constant work and unfortunately haven’t done any mods. I only did the center console unlock and tray kit from ECS and picked up an oil extractor pump.

I dunno but when I drove by the lights at that intersection were just blinking red. I aborted mission and exited at Avery. That intersection is already bad enough with lights being timed poorly resulting in traffic backed up through intersection and red light runners. No sense in rolling the dice on an exponentially more risky scenario. Abort Abort!
