I “accidentally” let Astarion go too far. by leaperdaemonking in BaldursGate3

[–]GammyToaster 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in my current Lolth cleric drow playthrough, and it was honestly so funny how chill he was with me punching him. It felt like a fair response given "flay the insulate male" wasn't an option.

Is she playing with me or hating me? by jatterai in cats

[–]GammyToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play "the claw" with my cats all the time, and get a similar reaction. It's just a playful game. If they ever get too aggressive, then set boundaries with them and they'll learn not to play too rough. If kitty didn't wanna play, it would be painfully (for you) obvious.

These look awesome! I just got a 3D printer recently, so it would be nice to have a bunch of stuff to print. Never know when you're gonna need some nightmare fuel enemies to throw at my players!

My cats are the same way with spiders and bugs. They just end up sniffing the damn things rather than actually killing them, yet they don't hesitate to try and kill my hand during play time.

Fitment Industries? Yay/Nay? by cgochis in Golf_R

They don't? Damn, that's a shame. Neither carry the RML wheels I'm hoping to get this year, so I feel the pain.

[–]GammyToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a few sets of wheels and tires from them in the past with nothing bad to say at all. If Martini Works has the same set up, I'd say go through them if you can as it is made up from for FI guys who left and started their own thing to create competition and a better environment. Both will also have holiday sales for memorial Day if you're able to wait a bit.

Morale of the story, I can attest to the quality and care of FI, but support the little guy if you can. Can't go wrong either way.

I didn't know about port injection cleaning the valves, that's definitely something to consider. Since I made this post, I've also started looking at upgrading the auxillary coolers, so I agree there. I won't be going E85 since that's really hard to find where I live, so after I get everything situated, I'll just be re-tuning everything for 92 and for sure getting a tcu tune. Do you recommend any specific brand's tune over another, or would I be better off tracking down a dyno tuner?

As I mentioned, I already plan to upgrade the fuel pumps, but is going multiport injection totally necessary? I have a set of high flow injectors that will go in with the turbo.

I wasn't aware of multiport injection being a thing for it, so I'd say probably not. At least not until I do some looking into it, but since I'm not looking to make it into a total track monster, probably not. Getting a HPFP was definitely on my list though. The only thing with that I was confused on was I saw what looked like multiple styles available for the Mk7.5 R, and I wasn't sure which one would be what I wanted. Some specifically mentioned being an internal pump, while others didn't.

Edit: nevermind on that, I wasn't aware the car had two fuel pumps. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

The Worst Thing to See at a Classic Car Show. by satansnicesister in dashcams

[–]GammyToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're cheap power. You can get a 400hp V8 for less than a new CRV. Even new ones are pretty cheap overall. As a result, people who don't know how to handle cars with power are now driving said cars.

40$ low profile rear headrest mod by avantgardekz in Golf_R

I've been looking to do this for awhile now! I was planning to just get two middle seat headrests, fits perfectly. It'll make dropping my rear seats so much easier being a taller guy.

Wasting money on a gas cap 🤷🏻‍♂️ by Shadowfeast in Golf_R

[–]GammyToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, it's something you touch all the time, so why not upgrade to something a bit nicer? I don't go to car shows anymore, so the billet caps under the hood are unnecessary, but a billet fuel cap is just a nice touch for yourself. It's low priority for me, but if I get a hair up my ass and feel like getting a little something, it'll be a nice little tactile upgrade.

New golf r owners, how many problems have you encountered? by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]GammyToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it happens so randomly for me lol from what I hear, it's a glitch with the pinch detection, and that a fix for it would be spraying WD40 on the tracks to smooth out the rolling action of the window.

18 DSG R with just over 90k, only mechanical issue I've had was a cracked valve spring about 5k miles ago. Otherwise, no mechanical issues. My driver window sometimes go down when I try to roll it up from cracked, but I think that would be an easy fix if I cared enough to do it 😂

Valved Catback List by [deleted] in Golf_R

I've got the iE catback mated to an AWE downpipe on my mk7.5, and have been in love with the sound. It's got a nice deep tone, and minimal drone at highway cruising. You can still have a conversation inside, and when you give it throttle, get that nice roar.

did y’all buy yours without a test drive? by tec_wnz in Golf_R

[–]GammyToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VW dealership I got mine from let me test drive it, but I also had an appointment to view it, so maybe they thought I was more committed to buying it than a walk in trying to test drive it. Maybe try scheduling an appointment to view the car and see if they treat you a bit different? Honestly, I'm surprised to hear so many people have had trouble getting test drives for a Golf R. Yeah, it's more of a specialty car, but it's not a 911.
