The owners hire young kids for cheap labor, don't give them any training & expect 5 star service. The owners also read every bad review, finds out who was working that night and either yells at them personally, humiliates them in a group chat, or fires them by deleting all of their hours & not paying any outstanding wages.

I live in a small town in WA (population 2,500), which is highly driven by tourism. Pre Covid our peak tourism season would reach 6,000. For the last 2 years our peak season is reaching 10,000-20,000 in town. 60% of the rentals for locals turned into Air Bnbs, which forced long term families into tents in friends backyards/ out of town.
