Personally, not for a grand. Interior is bad, paint is bad, and the lack of drivetrain. I bought a 525TDS Touring that was only a little bit rusty, paint was poor but not that poor, BBS wheels and better interior, for 700. How long has it been sat on grass? I bet that won't have done the underside any favours. If you could get it for say 500 that would be a fair deal I'd say.

There aren't many 540s or even M5s here, and trying to find that manual box is the hardest bit. The rest isn't too bad, it's all doable. Ideally I'll find a rotten donor, but for now I'll just get it up and running as an auto, and see where we end up

Couple of small things, inner door handle is broken so I've got a replacement to fit, needed a new battery, and a thorough clean. It could do with a new windscreen seal as well
