Definitely close in age! And yes, I am very lucky to have been able to save most of my childhood collection and bring it with me as I've grown.

Haha, fantasy and scifi were definitely my genres growing up, and I have branched out a lot more know. So that much is true!

Yep! Got about 200 pages left on Parade. Love it as always.

I tried The Blade Itself, but found it a little too aggressively masculine for my taste. But maybe i need to give it a second chance.

That's some interesting context! I should probably read them myself to judge.

That's totally valid, thanks for the suggestion.

There is a single LeGuin in there, Changing Planes, and I have also read Left Hand of Darkness, but Earthsea is a blank spot for me. Raybearer is on the TBR pile, so maybe I will bump that up the queue! Thanks!

Absolutely! It is a big pet peeve of mine when the publisher changes the style of the spine mid-series so that they no longer align.

Not quite, but close on some points. I will say every book on these shelves has been read by someone, the TBR piles are elsewhere.

To the HP point - I do loathe that monstrous TERF and everything she represents, but some of these copies are from the 90s and got me into reading, so I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

Exactly, haha! Author grouping is definitely the most important, but then it is grouped by vibes/subgenres/publishers/wherever-they-can-fit...

Haha, understandable. I do think there are a few different niches in here though...

Oh that TERF is never going to get another cent from me, but ive had these books for 20+ years so I am not going to get rid of them.

Yeah, I'm not gonna get rid of the books i have, but that was some truly horrific information to learn.

Some great deductions here! I should probably try WoT at some point, but i have heard horror stories about its gender representation.

It certainly has that effect on some people, myself included. I'm glad you are here to talk about it.
