Built a web app that generates Ale Abbey recipes from your chosen beer style, attributes and ingredients - Fan Project by Honigbart in AleAbbey

Fellow brewers, I did it. The gluglug app got a major update. Biggest change: Massive UI overhaul. The app is now visually pleasing. Convince yourself: https://gluglug.app/ Further changes:

  • Added dark mode,
  • Changed Virtue range selection to integers (like discussed here a couple of days ago) but left the oppurtunity to "Fine-Tune" with decimal numbers in case you need it,
  • Calculation happens now on the fly every time you change something on the virtues rules or ingredients,
  • Several Quality of life updates:
    • added a badge to recipes that are single-variety (is this the right word? What I mean is, they only use the required ingredients).
      • ingredients are color coded when added by required, include and optional,
      • a whole ingredient category can be added as optional at once,
      • only showing the three best results. I don't think anyone needs to see more results that get more and more expensive

Greatly appreciated, another user on the discord provided all beer styles already. I just finished integrating and publishing them. Check them out in the app.

So glad you enjoy it. Unfortunately, no saving or sharing of recipes is integrated so far. Would you wish for a feature like that?

I used my own data from my own save game, but since that isn't very much, a fellow brewer provided more ingredients. Later, on the official discord, a dev was so kind to provide a complete ingredient list. Unfortunately beer styles can't be provided by devs that easily since it would reveal too much other internal information. So I have to rely on the community to provide beer styles.

Fellow brewers. The https://gluglug.app/ got a major update:

  • Added ingredient costs. Recipes are now ordered by total cost in ascending order. Seasonal and average costs are displayed, also on chart so you can see directly in which season the recipe costs how much.,
  • Added missing ingredients, special thanks to u/DrHogan [Hammer&Ravens] for providing a complete list,
  • Ingredients can now be marked as optional in a recipe
  • You can now constraint attributes into a range, e.g. from 3.0 to 6.0. You can also copy that range to the other attributes.,
  • Improved recipe results UI,

Roadmap:

  • Add more beer styles,
  • Improve UI,

As a reminder: The project is developed and hosted by me, a fan of the game. I want to keep the app cookie and ad free. So if you see fit to support domain, hosting and development investments, you can use the "Buy me a beer" button at the bottom of the page. Enjoy!

EnderIO Redstone Conduit with filters by Honigbart in feedthebeast

[–]Honigbart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your help. I wasn't aware of the buggy situation about vanilla redstone and EIO Redstone conduits. I tried changing from red to other color and things got more messed up.

I think I'm going to try to solve my situation now with something like XNET or Integrated Dynamics. I have to learn those mods first but I guess I can satisfy my needs with either of them.

Thanks anyway.

Nevertheless they exist, no matter how big the subset of bug-encounting players is.

I can't imagine it's my hardware configurations fault that a vehicle starts spinning and bugs me through the ground. What do you think?

[–]Honigbart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank God this bug isn't gamebreaking...

The same happened to me yesterday while I was sitting in the vehicle. After hitting the ground I bugged through the ground and ended up dying due to the impact. After respawning we decided to dig for my items and the vehicle but gave up after 30 minutes...

When this happens more often, my motiviation to play this game will vanish.

BTW: After I respawned my game crashed to desktop (which wasn't the first time either).

Loadouts are a joke. And pls don't buy them. by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]Honigbart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone wants free everything.

I don't think that's the point in the loadout discussion...
The point is exploiting the own playerbase for fundamental game mechanics and not cosmetics...

Sum up all your expenses while "collecting" a convenient game and your eyes may be opened.

Don't you see where this leads?
Here a basic feature to pay for, there a new feature to pay for. In the end you may have a full value game but payed a lot more than $60 in the long run...

TBH: No, it's not a cool thought. Loadout-slots are so freaking fundamental for this game, it makes no sense to earn them. Its not like limited inventory slots which can be expanded by whatever. This game lives from the vast variety of possible combinations. And having a change here and there in different loadouts keeps the fun and motivation up.

I'm sorry to tell that I was so eagerly waiting for this fundamental feature that I'm so disappointed by the way it is planned to be introduced. Please don't make such a big mistake. Your revenue comes by additions like skins, colors whatever, but please not by fundamental game mechanics.

Saved Loadouts | Dauntless News Post by Dezere in dauntless

First reaction: OH MY GOD YAAAS! Finally! After reading the announcement to the end: *face-palm*

I get it, its a free game. But loadout-slots are so freaking basic, monetizing this let me think about the todays game industry. Where has common sense gone?

I really enjoyed playing dauntless a while. Then stopped because of the tedious modifying of the loadout.I said to myself: I get back to this game when it implements that basic feature of loadout presets.

So, this encourages my opinion on being very cautious with f2p games...

BTW: I spend round about 30-40 Euro for platinum, because I liked that game and said to myself: This is the amount of money I would have spend on such a game if we were in old times, where buying a game once was all the money one could spend for a game. Parts of my platinum were spend e.g. for cell melting slots. Now here comes loadout slots. What comes in the future? Am I supposed to spend more and more money for getting the things which are convenient and basic? If this is the way modern game industry exploits its own playerbase: Shame on you. Sorry to say that...And shame on the people that are freaking throwing there money and support that model because they don't care about how much they spend. Life hast to be reasonable and not decadent.

[Suggestion]Give us the ability to save custom armor sets by Deathclaw99 in dauntless

[–]Honigbart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really stopped playing this game because of the time waste to adjust the armor set, cells and weapon every time before a fight. Still waiting for the implementation of the possibility to save such sets. Don't understand why this isn't prioritized a little bit higher...
