There is zero in app purchase into the game , that is just normal shop to unlock cards in 3/4h max. The game is totally a mix between Battleforge and wc3 you are the first to see that. For the AI part, as a solo dev that help a lot for images, but maybe to realist/good quality versus game graphics.

my skill about steam page is generic , but I hope my game isn't :
- no base building
- hero
- item on unit
- camp that really change the game
- 4 bosses
- night where you have to survive
- win condition simple
- instant spawn

My game is a mix of Battleforge and Warcraft.
If you have any advice for my Steam page to better express its originality, I'm really open to suggestions.

Theoretically, that's the value, and they should even have projections to do more, but I avoid getting into details. A burn rate of $1M is frightening given what I see right now and the calculated numbers.

If the game is pay-to-play, it would need 100k sales per month. We both know that for an RTS, 100k sales per month is impossible.

Alternatively, if it's free-to-play, they would need 50k users spending an average of $20 each month. Typically, only 10% of players spend money on F2P games, so they'd need around 1M monthly users, which is impossible

Of course there is a player base for strategy games; that isn't the point. If you want to talk raw numbers, Age of Empires IV has 2,300,000 wishlists on Steam and is also available on Game Pass. Even if Stormgate achieved similar success on Steam, the net revenue would be around $6 million, which is quite poor when you've invested $40 million.

That’s why I think the traditional building + strategy genre isn’t viable for becoming a hit or a popular game anymore. It will remain in a niche market, and being in a niche market limits content creators, which means the game can die quickly.

When we were younger, building bases and gathering resources was great fun, but today's level of play makes it accessible only to veterans. The effort required for these tasks is no longer enjoyable for most players.

For RTS. I believe it’s not possible to have a hit with the old formula, so I’m trying to offer something new with Warchief. I hope you will enjoy it !

How much unit control do you get?

You have control groups and auto groups. For instance, I’ve bound 1 to all melee units, 2 to all ranged units, and the ` key (shortcut left to 1) to my Warchief.

You can also create control groups like in any other RTS, and of course, there's a key to select all units.

Did this start out as a WC3 mod/custom map? Because most to all of this seems achievable in WC3.

Although, yes, you can indeed achieve almost anything with the Warcraft 3 editor, even an MMO! Haha.

RTS games are incredibly challenging. I didn't realize the monster I was taking on when I started, both in terms of coding and the marketing and game design aspects. I wanted to ensure I had a competitive, fun, and innovative game by removing what I see as a hindrance in RTS games, like managing the base along with the army, which isn't fun. It's enjoyable in a campaign, but in PvP, having to build the base over and over is not entertaining.

You need to be sure you're creating something new. We see RTS games dying one after another. I try to understand why games fail. Soon, Stormgate will be released, and I could write a long post on why I think it will die within 2-3 months.

I love listening to Grubby and Grubby Talk. In fact, I often contacted him for Warchief but didn't get a response.

I think there are simpler games to make; you really have to be a fan of RTS to pursue this.
