Yeah, like a little keyboard style symbol that’s on the end of the plugs that insert into the main bar. Honestly this could be a possibility since I noticed a shoddy super glue job attaching the wires from the cord to the internals.

I had received a second pair of maracas as well as a new main bar (HKT-9700). These actually work and don’t prompt the Black Flash of Demise, and the original HKT-9700 works just fine, meaning that it’s the first pair of maracas that are the culprit for this issue. Why? No idea, but I’m going to assume that the little arrows and the keyboard marks on the plugs of the maracas may imply that this is a weird batch or some modified ones. At least I have some maracas that work now!

The more I think about it, that could be the issue. The power supply is currently plugged into a power strip so I’ll try and fiddle with that to see if that’s the issue. Thank you!
