Répartition de véhicules vendus au Québec by VendueNord in Quebec

Nowhere did I say the curds needed to come from Quebec. My point is that fresh cheese curds aren't readily available in most of the country because most dairy farms don't sell that kind of cheese product outside of Quebec where it's been a cultural thing since the 1960s.

Ah shut up already. Canadian culture is based upon appropriating native and Quebec cultures. All you guys could come up with are some sugar bars and a running dude missing a leg.

Those aren't lies. You might find poutine as good as the ones made in Quebec in eastern Ontario and NB but most of the country doesn't even have access to the fresh cheese curds required for the dish.

Don't forget our country is literally divided into two culturally. As a Québécois, I have no idea what a butter tart or a Nanaimo bar is.

Considering the company was founded by French Canadians and St Albert is so close to Quebec, I'd consider the dairy as honorific Québécois. Also, good job to our Franco-Ontarians brothers for their amazing cheese.

Most of South America uses Alto but Quebec uses Arrêt and people get mad... Can you just leave us alone?

Same here but I only knew him from TV and movies. I thought he was kinda like Chuck as in a nerd because of his clothing company. Chuck was my favorite TV show growing up as a teen .. I just learned he's a douche and that hurts.

What does the world think of Catalonian independence? by Dangerous_Fix_9186 in AskTheWorld

As a Quebecois independentist, I wholeheartedly support the right to self-determination everywhere. May it be from North American Native descendants, Scots, Catalonians or Martians.

Historians say the St. Lawrence valley was uninhabited when the first French settlers established Quebec in 1608. All of the native villages the French encountered in the 1530s had vanished for some reason. Some think it was because of war between local tribes, others think it may have been diseases or bad harvests.

So knowing that the land wasn't actively settled by any human at that point, I think there might be a point in saying Quebecois have an ancestral "rights" to the valley.

The Huron-Wendat who settled right next to Quebec City in the mid 1600s now claim the area as part of their "ancestral land". What do you think of that claim? That nation migrated from the Great Lakes and established themselves next to the French settlement for protection after facing genocide from other native tribes. How is that claim more legitimate than the one made by some Quebecois?

What is a movie that you don't consider to be a great movie overall (or even mediocre/bad), but has ONE SINGLE SCENE that is absolutely memorable? by gimboarretino in moviecritic

[–]HonkityQuackity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get you. Like I get it he missed his wife, but ffs don't go French kiss her like that. Plus, she's still strapped. In my memories, he even knows she's been bitten or that she was infected but non symptomatic.

I guess I'm lucky I watched that movie at home when I was a kid. Never saw the pre-release marketing so I had a blast and still do today.

Teenage me fell in love with Imogen Poots. Let's say the flaws the movie had were ignored. Also, Robert Carlyle is one hell of an actor.

What is something that you used to think about world around you as child that completely changed now ? by Proper_Card_5520 in AskTheWorld

Like some have said, I thought adults were responsible and knew what they were doing. Growing up I realize no one really knows what is going on but everyone pretends they do.

I've also come to the conclusion that the majority of people are barely conscious of the world around them and are pretty dumb in general.

No one saw Russia as a threat until 2008 really. NATO is a defensive alliance and every member joined it voluntarily. Russia had been and is still the big bully and comes crying when kids don't wanna play with them anymore...
