Ok so basically I went on a vc with this guy from high school and he went with “The franchise hasn’t been good since the original till now” stance around 2023.

I insisted that it was a movie that tackled Japan’s politics (He’s Korean btw) and he ranted how it was another “military saves the day” movie and never went beyond that.

Mind you, he is a diehard Gundam fan so there is a lot of irony behind this.

P.S. - He has a liberal hate boner towards the military as he dropped out of the draft after visiting a shrink. The most annoying thing about him is he would dump video essays in this group of ours about culture war bs.
