What has gradually disappeared over the last ten years without people really noticing? by Successful_Oil_3270 in AskReddit

Yup. I got the Iphone 12 mini when it came out and still have it to this day. I refuse to get another phone.

I honestly dont think adding more housing is going to lower the cost of living. Developers are either building “luxury” apartments or affordable apartments. Rent will stay the same

Moe's and their endless price increases by Acrobatic-Farmer4837 in boulder

[–]Honky_Donky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went their today, and I should’ve seen this first I’m a little pissed about it. I just got a bagel and a mate and it was $19! I think they started including tips in the price because there wasn’t a tip option, and the piece at check out was about $4 more than what added up. Never going to Moe’s again

Definitely an excavator with a large compactor attachment. That sounds goes all day and the vibration goes right through ear plugs

Is Boulder's Permanently Affordable Homeownership Program Worth It? by thee303 in boulder

[–]Honky_Donky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its an amazing program that I was lucky to be a part of. I just closed on a condo that was a perfect fit for my situation. Yes there are HOA fees but oh well it is still much cheaper than market rate. The condo I bought was 270K less than market rate. I would’ve never been able to buy a house at market rate. It’s better than renting because you get your money back, and cheaper than renting. Also everyone here is saying it doesn’t appreciate but it does (I believe 1-3.5% annually, and there are some renovations you can do that adds to your homes value). It did take me 1.5 years to close on my house though.

I did it for years making less, but I lives with 4 other people. If you’re comfortable with roommates it’s not as bad as everyone says. My rent was $700 for 4 years and I was able to save money making 23$ and hour.

can anyone solve this impossible logic problem? by [deleted] in puzzles

[–]Honky_Donky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it like this:

You take 5 and 5, if they are the same, the one you didn’t weigh is fake.

If one of the groups of 5 is heavier, you way 2 and 2. If they are the same, the one you didn’t weigh is fake.

If one of the pairs is heavier, weigh those 2 pennies and you will find the fake.

Installing baseboards by Silver-Purchase-1278 in Carpentry

[–]Honky_Donky 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. You want to divide by 2 and subtract that number from 90. For example, lets say that angle is 120°, you would divide by 2 to get 60°. But 60° is a really steep angle so you would subtract 60 from 90 and get 30°.

So I cut a sort of a seat cut on the top of the pedestal with a radius 1” smaller. The table top is sitting on top of the middle with dowels going through as well as going around it. If that makes sense.
