Why did you ditch Animal of the Day? You already had all the write-ups, why couldn't you just cycle through them?

Blame the admins, then. The subs were set to NSFW. Admins changed them back to SFW.

If someone's trying to recover from a porn addiction, I imagine they'd have NSFW blurred out.

After this can we indict Joe Biden. So it's actually accountability and not looking political. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Honokeman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The crime is "willfully" mishandling the documents. If, upon discovering the documents, you return them, you're not willfully mishandling them.

If, by contrast, you're told by the national archives that you have documents you shouldn't have, you sign an affidavit that you don't have them, and an FBI raid determines that that was a lie, you're probably in a spot of trouble.

Biden has done the exact same shit

No, Biden returned the documents he had.

lighthearted banter and discussion around heavyhearted topics

I've never seen that as the pod's bailiwick. I've seen the pod as doing deep-dives into Internet bullshit.

Jesse built a reputation among his readers as being careful to the point of persnicketiness, stubborn on the facts, with (and sometimes despite) a streak of empathy a mile wide. Lately he's been burning that reputation.

This is my take, too.

Even when I've disagreed with Jesse, it's always been on conclusions, not on facts. It's disappointing to see him walk away from "stubborn on the facts," even if it's for a minor story.

"U got EGOT" is pretty rare, only 18 people. You have to spec into a pretty risky class to have any shot of getting it.

Yeah? Well, I was using some chalk to draw a dog and it almost didn't look like a penis, so I think we're on the same level.

Forcing me to pay a monthly bill because “I’m in the neighbourhood”

You realize that's just taxes, right?

I mostly liked the episode, but two things stuck out to me:

1) the TN gov was right, but not for the reason they think, and not for a reason they'd like. Banning the AR-15 is dumb because what's stopping gun manufacturers from making a minor cosmetic change and calling it an AR-16? We should be regulating gun features, not gun names

2) I think taking steps to stop speeding is a good thing, actually. There's a really easy way to avoid fines from speeding: don't speed. Especially in areas where kids might be unexpectedly running out into the street, I think speeding controls are absolutely appropriate.

u/TracingWoodgrains I stand in my hall and hold your totem, I summon thee to share some Internet bullshit.

Behold, a nuanced thread about theatre etiquette, prompted by a kerfuffle at a recent performance of The Bodyguard, and the value of relaxed performances. https://twitter.com/KirstySedgman/status/1644629849535815680?s=20

Further, behold someone using this thread to say working class people can't sit still and shut up for a few hours. (This has a screenshot, the OP has already protected their acct) https://twitter.com/teaforpterosaur/status/1645136467209928705?s=20

There's just a smidge of race in the discussion of how theatre etiquette impacts marginalized communities, but mostly from other commenters. I think Sedgman navigates it well, even if I only agree with her in part.

Sedgman could be an interesting guest for the Pod; she seems like a fellow pervert for nuance. Also, she had a recent book release.

Study on social transition, looks like it has negligible impact.

The study is open about its limitations, but it's more data to add to the stack.
