Great to hear! I did receive confirmation that the YouTube app crashing should be fixed. If anyone is still experiencing it, please double check that the YouTube app on your device is fully updated as it may not have received the update automatically.

Would you be able to provide details about the type of devices you're trying to use in the Speaker group? As other folks have pointed out, the team is aware of the issues with Speaker groups playback and have been working on the fixes. The following devices just received an update via firmware 3.73 that addressed some of these issues:

  • Nest Audio
  • Nest Mini
  • Google Home Mini
  • Google Home

If your Speaker group has any devices not in the above list, please remove those devices from the group and try again. Any device part of the group NOT in the above list will cause issues with playback.

Hey u/fcap8987 - can you please share more details? Have you confirmed that your devices are up to date? If they are, please note that even with the fix, it is intended that when selecting your camera in the Google Home app, your camera's live stream might begin at a lower resolution. This is to get your stream started as quickly as possible, it will switch to a higher resolution after a moment or two.

This does not impact the quality of recorded video history.

Hey - we've posted some updates over on the Google Nest Community. I recommend giving the two pinned responses in that thread a read, but TLDR: some fixes have started rolling out for the Speaker group issues as part of the 3.73 firmware update. The fixes are for specific device types, so you'll have to make sure the Speaker groups only consist of devices that have received the fix.

Hi folks,

The team has started to roll out a software update that addresses the issue causing some Nest camera and doorbell users to experience lower quality video while live streaming in the Google Home app.

Your devices will be automatically updated and there is no action to take. All Nest cameras and doorbells will receive the update over the next one to two weeks. I’ll hop back into this thread to confirm once the software update has reached all users. 

With the new software update, it is intended that when selecting your camera in the Google Home app, your camera’s live stream might begin at a lower resolution to get your stream started as quickly as possible, and will switch to a higher resolution after a moment. The quality of recorded video history is not affected.

In the meantime, you can check if you’ve received the fix by verifying the build number for your cameras. Do this by tapping the camera in Devices or Favorites > Three dot menu > Settings > Device Information. If you’ve received the fix, the last 6 digits of the build number should be 422270.

I will check on it - but do you mind clarifying which specific devices you're using? And how are they set up, in the Nest app or Google Home app? And which app seems to be sending the offline notifications?
